I wouldn't put anything past him, to be honest.

Although if he did that and didn't tell me, then let me drive the car uninsured, wouldn't he be liable?

We paid for everything jointly - the car, the tax, the insurance etc. It's as much mine as his. And I have proof of it all. But it's not worth getting worked up about.

That's what I mean ......I think you'll find his behaviour won't be the surprise to some people that you think it's going to be-

Making your own arrangements and getting on with things -without even commenting -will probably rile him but he'll get over it in time.....and far better than the alternative of having to ask. As you say dignity, sanity and self respect !

As for your Mum -you know her best -and in your shoes I'd be keeping stum still my sister was safely off on honeymoon too !

Oh, I will. I have to leave on the Monday and sis will still be here, so will visit Mum the next week and tell her then.


And yes, perhaps others will see him for what he really is, or perhaps some of them already know.

It'd be his word against yours ....He could just claim he'd told you he'd taken you off (something believable if you'd split) and the court would decide what was more likely . Not worth the stress, time and risk.

Well, of course you and I and everyone on this thread can see that he's owed nothing. He's had more than enough chances and he wasted them all. But he may see it differently, he's very arrogant and likes to be in control. He's attempting to put me in my place and get revenge on me for ending it. How dare I.



And I've severed all contact, to preserve my dignity, sanity and self-respect. If he takes the car, he's showing his true colours to all and sundry.

What comes around goes around. You will benefit from that given your kind nature.

He on the other hand will not.

Tay, have you seen the doctor about your rash? I'm sure it's stress-related (I've been following your thread, and congratulations on how far you've come), but there's probably something s/he can give you to help and stop it spreading.

Unfortunately I suffer from all sorts of rashes, and they can normally be attacked with creams/antibiotics/other lotions and potions

Tay - well done - just one more week ish to go.

Don't under estimate this next week though - are there any stress busting activities you can do to calm you down a bit and start working on that breathing and rash business? If you are anywhere in the Notts area you can come and do some community gardening in the evenings if you want at our garden. An hour watching frogs is enough to soothe anyone's troubles away.

My ex did something similar with my car.

I left him in 2005 (to go to a women's refuge with my children). It was my car but of course I had no paperwork with me.

He left a message (well, he left a couple of hundred messages!!) to say he had taken me off his insurance. So I couldn't drive the car at all.

Never mind the fact I was the one with 2 children and a full time job....

The car ended up being the one of the arguments he used for the next 1.5 years until the divorce was finalised. It was parked up in a field at my mum and dad's for that time.

To cut a long story short, the judge decided he didn't need TWO cars (!) But even then, ex decided he just had to have the one I had been driving.

Dad got it out of the field for me, battery flat etc. In the 18 months it had been parked, it had grown a 3cm thick layer of mould over all the carpets and seats.

Anyway, just wanted to echo what others have said and that is to see if you can be free of the car as soon as possible.
