Thanks spirit, and well done on becoming mortgage-free! That's amazing
You sound so much happier than at the beginning of your thread (and the other one too), it's lovely to see.
ps the mortgage free involved moving a few miles up the M1 (DS and DD had already moved this way) and since there is the big old North/south divide house price wise - i've benefitted from this
oh and i get to do the same job, just from home!Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
Thank you all. The two-year anniversary of this thread passed yesterday. I can't believe it's been so long, and at the same time it feels like a lifetime ago.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Tay, haven't been around myself for a long time, and just spotted this thread. Great to see that you are happy! It all takes time, and like you say you never know when good things are going to happen! I'm happily divorced now, ( just made my silver anniversary before it came through!) working full time to pay for a bigger mortgage but still so happy.
Had a lovely few months with a lovely man last summer, but he wasn't ready for a new relationship. It was sad, but I knew where he was coming from. Then a few months later we ended up back in touch, and 6 months later we're still going strong! It's a very relaxed thing, we both have families, we have no intention of it being more than dates ( and whatever they bring!), quite happy having our own lives, our own houses. Exactly what I want! I would never ever go back to the person I was, and I'm so glad all the rubbish happened as it got me to where I am now.0 -

Hello everyone
I thought I'd pop back in and give you an update on how things are going. I'm now officially divorced, and very relieved. Talk about a weight lifting off my shoulders!
Life is good. I'm still blissfully living on my own, reading books in peace and sleeping well. I've cleared out a lot of clutter, and the house is nice and tidy and organised - just the way I like it. The weight I lost has stayed off, which has helped my confidence.
I've also rebuilt my social life. My family and friends have been lovely, very supportive - and I have some new friends whom I've met through shared interests.
And I'm in a relationship - a lovely relaxed easygoing one this time

How are you all?
Hi!
I have been wondering how you were getting on.
It's lovely to hear that you're so happy and enjoying life
Like you, I too am now divorced. (Decree Absolute arrived exactly one week after what would have been our 25th wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago).
Ex husband and I worked very hard to find a way to stay on good terms for the sake of our daughter and, as a result, we were able to agree our finances in such a way that I have kept my home (which was nice and tidy and organised until daughter came home from uni!) Unfortunately, I have gained some weight which I definitely need to lose, especially as my daughter will be getting married in 18 months and I don't want to be a frumpy MOTB.
I was determined not to allow being alone to prevent me from taking some of the trips I had planned and have travelled alone to America twice so far, with another trip planned for next Easter. (My aim is, eventually, to have visited every state.)
I don't do much socially or outside of work as every spare penny is squirrelled away towards my next trip, but I'm really a homebody and have never been one for going out or socialising much so I'm quite happy
I feel that I was lucky to have had such a happy marriage for so long - it's a lot more than some people ever get - so I decided to be grateful for what I had, rather than letting the loss of it colour my memories.
While this new life is not what I had planned, or would have chosen, it does have some advantages and these are what I choose to focus on.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07
