FINALLY DONE IT: Tayforth's new beginning

Thank you so much, everyone. It was a real thrill for me to write that update yesterday and reflect on how far I'd come in the last 12 months. When I thought about the alternative - that I could still be in that soul-destroying relationship - I physically shuddered.

JanCee - you're right, I do deserve to be happy. Everyone does.

Tayforth, I haven't been a long time follower of your story but I have caught up on most of it during the last few days and I must say that you have made me smile a lot. Your positive attitude now is a testament to your strong character and despite all the hard times you have perservered and come forward a much stronger woman. Not only have you made it but I see all the way along the line how you have helped others, supported others and been gracious in the support given to you. All I can think to say is a friend like you is a friend indeed.

I have a lot of respect for you and your story.

Things are still going well with the new guy. Work is busy but enjoyable, and I'm meeting friends this evening for dinner.

I went shopping at lunchtime and bought some pretty new underwear in the sales.

We had another date at the weekend, all still going great I can't believe how lucky I am to have met such a lovely man, he's absolutely wonderful.

Hi Tayforth,

Your thread has been a bit of a life-changer for me as well. I am now much less accepting when it comes to dating and have become better at spotting red flags.

Tayforth, I have followed this from the start and glad I have been proved right in that a) you are finding the happiness that you deserve and b) you really should think about taking up writing - you are very good at it!

Soo...I've just read the first post of this thread again, and I'd completely forgotten that you were a long time user on a new ID!

So I'm now rather curious, are we allowed to know your secret identity yet or do you prefer to stick with being Tayforth? She's done pretty well, after all!
