Have fun but give yourself time to know yourself before getting serious with anyone else!

Oh no, it was nothing serious at all, I have no intention of seeing him again - plus he lives in a different city!

I was talking to him in the pub and he seemed very nice (and absolutely gorgeous). He asked for my number at one stage and I said no. Then at the end of the night, he asked if I wanted to go for chips. I said yes.

So we wandered off to the chippy, and en route kept talking and laughing, and suddenly he took my hand, and we stopped, and he kissed me. And it was lovely. I'm glad that I did it. I haven't had a real physical attraction in such a long, long time. It was flattering, confidence-boosting and FUN.

And that was that. No follow-up, no complications, just a nice memory that put a smile on my face the following day. :D I'm glad that it happened.

Personally, Id have taken his number, another city or not, at the very least you might have made a new friend out of it.

Thats these days Id have taken his number, in times gone by I probably wouldnt have.

    Hello all

So sorry for being AWOL for ages, I've been at my mum's mostly and her wifi is awful! I totally intend to keep this thread going :)

Don't worry, I haven't gone back to my ex  and nor will I ever go back to him.

It's been a strange few weeks. As you know, I had a wobble in July - but it turned out that it wasn't a 'changing my mind' wobble, more of a comedown from the adrenaline of the previous few months. I started sleeping better, though. I'm determined to go back to work next month, though it's a daunting prospect.

Also - I've had a couple of nights out with some good friends, which helped a lot. We had a laugh, and they were so nice and supportive.

I've also bought a few new dresses.

I do have my 'down' moments too, but I try not to worry about them, they'll pass.

I'm going to visit a good friend tomorrow for a few days, which I'm very much looking forward to.

Unfortunately, I still don't feel 100% comfortable being in my house. I'll give some thought to moving when I get back to work. I also feel the urge to have a huge clearout and either sell or give away lots of stuff, I've read about people who've done this and they say that it makes them feel 'lighter' mentally and emotionally.

Will reply to you all individually in a sec.

    How is everyone? xxx

Glad you are ok Tay, we were getting a bit worried about you.

In the circumstances I think that a move will be cathartic for you. I too did that (had to sell the family house anyway) but once i'd got my very own home, bit by bit I replaced everything which was 'ours' previously. This was everything from the bed to the last teaspoon.

Edited to add: oh gosh, just noticed that we're on page 100!

Yay! Real progress, and not giving him your number probably the best idea - but what a great confidence booster. Go you!

And BTW, really pleased to see you back :)
  • Go for it Tay - have some fun...

Strategy tips? One is to become more organised (I'm terrible). I've bought myself a planner - old fashioned write on planner as I fail miserably with electronic planning and record keeping.

I've also written myself a 'work timetable'. That means I know exactly what I'm doing in my free time during and after school. If everything is not done in that time then I'm allowing 4 hours on a Sunday. If it's not done then, it's not getting done.

I'm learning to say no. I've always known that the more you do, the more you're expected to do. If I can't get something done, then I will just have to say no. Simple.

Make sure I spend quality time with my family. Nothing at all work related after 6pm weeknights, all day Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Stop feeling guilty about work. I will never please my boss - so as long as I know I'm working hard then that will be enough.

We'll see come September whether or not that will work. But that's how I'm planning for now.
