Also, my employer's welfare dept called and offered me counselling, which I am going to take them up on. I can do it by phone or in person. I did have a bit of a cry on the phone, but the lady was fine about it. As long as I can go into work and not break down I'll be ok!
That's good that they are being supportive. If you have a choice and either is doable, I'd urge you to have the person to person counselling, at least in the beginning, because it is important to work with someone you trust and you can only really establish that face to face. Also with someone you don't know, it is easier to misunderstand what they are saying as you don't have the visual prompts, eye contact etc that you have when being in the same room as a person.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
I'll do that, Daisy, it makes sense - as with everything that you say
And thank you.
I'm just getting my things together to go to my house tomorrow for a few days. My mum is coming with me, thankfully. I'm sure that a huge pile of post awaits! But it'll do me good to be there and just potter about the place. No plans apart from going to the doc to pick up my latest cert. Hope that the weather is decent so that we can get out for walks etc.
How is everyone?Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Try and enjoy nesting tayforth.. I seem to remember you were prettify ing your space...making it feminine and to your taste with your things that he hadn't liked, is that right? S you are going back to YOUR OWN space?
I got a nap today!
I'll tell you now why I have to stay up. I have a small holding and dogs. I also have liveries here. It's an important part of taking care of taking care of my clients horses IMO that they never go too long unchecked, that the yard is never too 'safe' for thieves. And that the foxes and badgers have disincentive from hanging around my poultry) And also that my dogs get to empty their bladders (one in particular is getting old and finds the night stretch 'difficult'. So we go for a short wander to see the horses, piddle around the bird housing, check all the gates etc. our routine is that this must not be before half ten. I then have an alarm for 6.25 in case i sleep that long but am usually awake (ATM) at 5:20 when I slip some pjs on and get the dogs straight out again to check the birds and horses. My hours from waking until nine am are the most productive of my day usually.0 -

That's rightI was making quite good progress as well. It's starting to look quite different now, and I cleaned it before I left last time, so it'll still be sparkling when I get back - one of the benefits of living on my own!
Glad that you managed a nap today, well done
Your way of life sounds very attractive to me. I wasnt a regular on the families board before, but I do remember you talking about your house purchase and doing it up. How are you finding it now? Is it similar to where you grew up?
I come from a fairly rural area, and miss that environment when I'm working in the city. I sometimes wonder if I'm suited to urban living, tbh. Who knows what's in the future?Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Just been for some pub grub with my mum, we had a nice chat and a couple of drinks. It's really lovely to be able to spend time with her, I'm trying to make the most of it as we usually only see each other every few weeks.
It's also made me think about how much I miss my family when I'm living away.Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Do you have to? Is it possible to get work back near home and change your current place for at 'somewhere near home' place?
Dx

Oops. Forgot about that.
OK, I'll switch off now!
Re work, I'm not sure if it'd be possible to get a job in my line of work closer to where I come from. I'm fairly sure that it wouldn't, actually. But I'll consider my options over the next while.

Hey Tayforth.
Things have been so hectic, been keeping up with your thread and not able to post (the blown up router not helping there). Glad to hear work have offered you counselling and are being so supportive for you.
How's the rash now? Still improving?
With the sleeping thing, I've never been a great sleeper, I used to go to school on next to no sleep because the routines and remedies didn't touch me. I actually had a car accident a couple of years back and it got worse. I ended up finding that listening to the sound of waves really helped me on some nights. Some nights nothing helps me at all, but it might be something else to try like the podcasts and audiobooks for you.
Hope you manage a good nights sleep tonight!

I miss city life sometimes. This isn't anything like where I grew up, but its nice.. We're still only scratching the surface of doing it up. This summer we are putting a decent bathroom in, builders started this week. It's going in our spare bedroom. We still don't have working heating/hot water as the heating system we put in has failed to work and its all very frustrating and we are taking the installers to court.:o:D

Hello, sorry that I haven't posted all day.
I'm now at my house, my mum is with me. We had a lovely evening - I went food shopping and made a nice dinner, then popped out to see a friend I hadn't seen in ages.
It is very strange being here, but it's OK as I have company. I'm doing fine. Tomorrow, we'll have a day at the sales, and I'll treat her to dinner.Hey Tayforth.

Hi Perryl. The rash has really improved, thank you, and I slept a bit better last night. Thanks for the tips, I will add them to my list of things to trylostinrates wrote: »I miss city life sometimes. This isn't anything like where I grew up, but its nice.. Goodness!!!! I wish you luck, hope that you get some joy.
What do you miss about city life (and what do you not miss), and what are the pluses and minuses regarding where you currently live? xxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A
