If that post I've wrote is too late, am sorry. I've only just joined and I saw your first post, then I saw there's over 80 pages lol. The last I read it sounds like you've split up with him.
How did you finally manage to break free? And well done to you!!
Very proud. My friend though, is still in her situation. x

I managed to break free thanks to the wonderful support I received from the Samaritans, my close friends and the amazing people who posted on this thread. That helped me through the very worst times.

I am now out the other side and free. I'm taking charge of my own life, and making plans for the future. Not for one second have I doubted my decision, and I never will. There will be challenges, but I'm confident that I can face them. Now that my mum knows about it, I finally feel at peace (long story, but I kept it quiet for the sake of my sister's wedding).

Has your friend confided in you or anyone? xx

Lazy day today! I'm going to start gathering up my financial details for the will-making appointment this Thursday, so that'll be done. Do I need to bring ID or proof of address or anything?

Nice to hear you sounding so relaxed and positive now :)

I've had some good/scary news over the weekend, I've asked to view a vacant flat in the block that I want  I haven't sold my house yet (estate agents are very slow ) but I can't really let it go!
Financially it will be a squeeze as I'll still have to pay the mortgage etc on the house as well as rent but I don't care any more :)
I'll need to revert to my old MSE ways !!

Hi Tay, I'm not sure about ID etc. It seems logical that you would need them, but if so you'd have thought the solicitor would have mentioned it. (I am being vague as it isn't my area and there is no point in guessing!). Why not give the solicitor's secretary a ring and ask?

Rockie are you going to leave your OH in the house when you move into the flat? Just worried that he will run up bills and not take care of the place and make it even more difficult for you to sell! Could you boot the ex out and rent the house out to cover the mortgage? You'd have to get up to speed with landlord obligations and/or pay an agent to manage the property for you, but at least you won't be supporting your OH (that could go on forever  )

    Hello everyone.

I'm feeling a bit down at the minute. My rash hasn't eased, and I've been sleeping quite badly. Not sure why, but I'm just tired and a bit fed up.

Sis is due home this week, I'll finally be able to tell her the truth.

Good idea, I'll do that :) I want to be as prepared as possible!!!

rockie4 - I'm so pleased for you that a flat has come up, but I guess that Daisy is right - you need to make sure that the house is looked after and kept in a 'saleable' condition.

Let us know how the viewing goes xxx

    Hi tayforth,

I'm not altogether surprised you're feeling a bit low.
Be kind to yourself - remember that you've been running on adrenaline for a long time, and now you're probably starting to come down from that a bit. Make sure you are eating properly, exercising and keeping yourself busy...and remember to check in here so we know you're ok!

    love from MsB x
