I'm sure if you explain about telling your mum this weekend, your GP will sign you off for longer. He seems quite understanding.
I'm seeing a different GP today, it's just random who you get in my surgery as it's quite big. Hope that she's as understandingLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Tay - I'm so proud of you! Promise me one thing. When it's your sisters first wedding anniversary I want you to look back and see how much better you life is then (in a years time).
A friend of mine always told me to look a year back and compare your life. If things were better then your doing it right!0 -
I'm still waiting at the surgery, it's running behind apparently. Feeling a bit scared in case the doctor tells me that she won't give me another sick note and I have to go back on Monday. I'm pretty sure that I would be no use at work right now.Peanut2013 wrote: »Tay - I'm so proud of you! Promise me one thing. What a lovely thought. I will definitely do that. I'm optimistic that things will look very different in a year's time.
And thank you xxxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

When my husband and I seperated I ended up with 6 weeks off sick altogether as only 6 weeks before my mum passed away and was life hard at that moment, had an awful 8 months actually, lost my dad, my step mum and my dog as well, took me a long time to dust myself down and get back to living.
Hope you get some extra time off xxTreat other's how you like to be treated.
Harry born 23/09/2008
New baby grandson, Louie born 28/06/2012,
Proud nanny to two beautiful boys :j
And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better
UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted0 -
The doctor was lovely, and gave me another 2 weeks off. She also asked me to have a blood test tomorrow, she wants to rule out glandular fever (!).
I had another good cry, was just letting out all the stress of the wedding and keeping it from my family. I just want to tell my mum ASAP. I'm going to see her tomorrow evening and will tell her then.harrys_nan wrote: »When my husband and I seperated I ended up with 6 weeks off sick altogether as only 6 weeks before my mum passed away and was life hard at that moment, had an awful 8 months actually, lost my dad, my step mum and my dog as well, took me a long time to dust myself down and get back to living.

don't be daft, just didn't want you being bogged down with junk mail.
glad you got more time off work, take care to relax a bit, once you have told your mum you will be able to start recovering xi came into the world with nothing, and guess what? i still have it!!!:p0 -
I am really pleased that the gp you saw showed such empathy to your situation and signed you off for another couple of weeks. There is no point in rushing back to work. Take all the time you need to speak with your family and friends and to start healing from all you have been through and coped with.
I cannot believe how far you have come in just over a month. You are doing so well. There will be many ups and downs but I think in a years time you will look back and be amazed at how your life has changed and drastically improved. That is what I hope for youThe best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0
