Any excuse for another trip to Ikea :)

I'm sure if you explain about telling your mum this weekend, your GP will sign you off for longer. He seems quite understanding.

I'm seeing a different GP today, it's just random who you get in my surgery as it's quite big. Hope that she's as understanding :o

Tay - I'm so proud of you! Promise me one thing. When it's your sisters first wedding anniversary I want you to look back and see how much better you life is then (in a years time).

A friend of mine always told me to look a year back and compare your life. If things were better then your doing it right!

I'm still waiting at the surgery, it's running behind apparently. Feeling a bit scared in case the doctor tells me that she won't give me another sick note and I have to go back on Monday. I'm pretty sure that I would be no use at work right now.

What a lovely thought. I will definitely do that. I'm optimistic that things will look very different in a year's time. :)

    And thank you xxx

When my husband and I seperated I ended up with 6 weeks off sick altogether as only 6 weeks before my mum passed away and was life hard at that moment, had an awful 8 months actually, lost my dad, my step mum and my dog as well, took me a long time to dust myself down and get back to living.
Hope you get some extra time off xx
Treat other's how you like to be treated.

    Harry born 23/09/2008

And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better

    UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted

The doctor was lovely, and gave me another 2 weeks off. She also asked me to have a blood test tomorrow, she wants to rule out glandular fever (!).

I had another good cry, was just letting out all the stress of the wedding and keeping it from my family. I just want to tell my mum ASAP. I'm going to see her tomorrow evening and will tell her then.

Its good to have a little cry, it is so cleansing, and means you are nearer to healing.

I am really pleased that the gp you saw showed such empathy to your situation and signed you off for another couple of weeks. There is no point in rushing back to work. Take all the time you need to speak with your family and friends and to start healing from all you have been through and coped with.

I cannot believe how far you have come in just over a month. You are doing so well. There will be many ups and downs but I think in a years time you will look back and be amazed at how your life has changed and drastically improved. That is what I hope for you :)
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
