I've had a lovely evening watching last night's Apprentice, texting friends, eating leftover wedding cake and playing with the neighbour's cat. She loves nothing more than chasing a piece of string!Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Did you see the doormats that say 'Not you again'? I'm surprised you didn't get oneGood enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Right - bedtime. I'm tired and have just taken my antihistamine tablet, which will hopefully knock me out.
I've been messaging a good friend tonight, told her the story, she's been wonderful. I feel very blessed.
Goodnight everyone, sleep tight xxLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

One month today since I started this thread. I've just been reflecting on all that has happened since then. It's been quite a month!
What a month it has indeed been! Time to reflect on the massive achievement you have made - with the amount of positive support you have received (have you noticed that there has been not one negative comment?!) you are clearly on the side of the angels.
Have a glass of fizz in one of your new flutes. Well done you!0 -
Tayforth, I've been a secret stalker since day one, gripped to your story! Everyone has said this already but you really do sound so lovely and likeable.
I hope that you're taking all the positivity that's coming to you from this thread and are just soaking it up! Sorry I've not commented before (it's a right faff, very rarely get a decent internet connection up), but now I've had the chance I just had to say something...
A massive well done for everything you've been through and achieved in only a month! You have done really well and maintained a level head and rational outlook throughout. I reckon I could only dream of being as together as you have been about this, if I were in your shoes.
One of my favourite lyrics at the moment is from "Same Jeans" by The View (such a one hit wonder from yeaaars ago I know..!), it goes "You'd be amazed at what you can achieve in a year". It gives me goosebumps when I hear it... Without going into too much detail here, I'm quite literally thousands of miles away from where I was this time last year, on the other side of the world! I'm such a different person and I've learnt and grown so much, I'm so proud to be me.
You won't believe the exciting and incredible opportunities that life can throw at you, and now that you're able to be the positive, happy, confident person that you always secretly were, those opportunities will be coming along thick and fast! You will have the courage to take them, I'm sure, whatever they are. Well done again, and enjoy your new life as much as you can. There'll be tough days of course, but look to the future, it's sunny and golden
Lots of love!

I've been amazed and humbled by the support that I've had on this thread, everyone has been so kind. It's really buoyed me up when I've felt low. There's no way that I'd have come so far without you lot, so thanks very much from the bottom of my heart. :T:T:T
And you know, I might just have that glass of fizzI have a friend coming round this evening, will offer her one too

Thank you for taking the time to post all that KYL, I'm really touched! :A
I am indeed soaking up all the positivity, I've been taking every ounce of strength from this thread in the last month.
Your story sounds very interesting, and you sound soooo happy and confident. "I'm proud to be me." I love it! I'm a keen traveller so would love to hear more about what you're doing and what's brought you to where you are. I'll PM you my email address if you want to chat anytime.
I'm off to listen to that song right now, thank youLife is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

I've been busy today! Went to get a shade for a beautiful vintage style lamp that I have, it's now all set up in the living room and looking fab
I also went back to IKEA to get the flamingo glasses as I regretted not getting them yesterday - thanks to lostinrates!
And I returned the hire car. Sad to see it go tbh, it was very handy and a great little runaround.
I have a doctor's appointment in a bit, going to see if I can get my sick line extended. I suspect that I'm going to want to spend more than just the weekend at my mum's. I'm bracing myself for telling her...Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

Any excuse for another trip to Ikea
I'm sure if you explain about telling your mum this weekend, your GP will sign you off for longer. He seems quite understanding.0
