Hi everyone
Just a quick update - I've just had to fill up the car as it was on the red. Spent £57 on petrol  but I managed to go into the garage to pay & come out again without buying anything else as I normally do - normally partial to choc bars, mints, crisps, anything for the attack of muchies, so just petrol bought - can you tell I'm very proud of myself??
I've also paid for a necessary physio check up (£45) today
I've also paid for 6 months car tax online (£77), which was overdue as I had not realised that the MOT had expired a week previously. Car passed MOT with a few advisories, but no immediate work needed, thank God.
I need to pop out this afternoon to buy & send a couple of bday cards, but I already have the stamps, so will just be the card. A friend will be 21 at the weekend (I'm so jealous - I feel so old!) and I thought that rather than buying an expensive present, I'd buy her a lottery ticket
I can't think of anything else that's happening today - well done to everyone who is managing not to spend any money! It would seem that I've managed to spend lots today without even trying, but I guess that they're all essentials! As this is the start of my moneysaving journey, I'm hoping to get more sorted and have money put aside to pay for things like car tax & insurance, but I'm pleased with myself for not just sticking them on a CC like I normally do

Hi kutat! I always think about lottery tickets but selfish me would worry they got the jackpot! Terrible I know! Maybe a way round it would be to buy two with same numbers - that way we would both be millionaires! Not sure I should admit such selfish thoughts - going to get something back for this oneHappiness is wanting what you have...0

How funny angelpye, I had been thinking the same thing!! I figured that even if she had the winning ticket, it might last longer than the other alternative which is a bottle of something fizzy... and cheaper....Xmas 2016 #67 £0/£365

Yes they quoted a price, I put my max bid in and won. The revised postage would have taken it above my maximum. I think it's because of the changes with Royal Mail but I wouldn't have bid higher. Just feel guilty!
Don't feel guilty, a seller should be aware of postage prices before advertising. I currently have things to sell on there and if I got to the post office and it was more I would take it on the chin as its not the buyers responsibility. Same goes for if its less than I quoted, I would refund. But that's just me.PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

It's just they would have made 3.40 instead made 60p. Thing is as there something missing I wouldn't have paid much more for it and my budget so tight. They were kind enough to post ASAP as needed it. I know legally not my responsibility just wonder if it is morally right to at least split the difference? Maybe just over thinking when seller likely to have forgotten!Happiness is wanting what you have...0

If it were me, I'd offer to split the difference. But I'm a massive softy! You're well within your rights to tell them (nicely) to, ahem, poke it!0 -
Hello all!
Emergency spend day - £3.90 for a cable to fix my oven. FIL's going to fix it for us tonight.
I think it's the seller's problem for not having checked postage. Hubby's occasionally undercharged for postage and has just marked it down to experience.0 -
I wouldn't stump up the extra for postage either. Them's the rules.
Having said that the new postage is  I just sent a parcel for a friend's birthday next week, and it was £4.40! Ridonculous! Silly really as I'm meant to be visitng at the beginning of May. Although I might ditch that plan to save the train fare (another )
Anyway, posted that and a letter to France and picked up my dry cleaning, as I was on a spending trip . . . that should be me doen for a while though. Afternoon all - definity a spend day here - filled the car up with petrol - £73.60!!!
I have also ventured out into the garden - still at the tidying up stage and threatening to mow the lawn tomorrow if it stays nice - and have written my first two letters. Like others I wasn't brave enough to ask outright for samples but will wait to see what might happen. One of them is freepost and it will be exciting to wait for the post!!44 day challenge
