    Hello :)

Lots of people having productive days I see. I had to laugh krustylouise at your post about dreaming of petrol... and going over £20 by a few pence!!! I am slightly neurotic about that - If I do it... I then have to fill it up to the next £5... this can go on for a very long time if I'm not careful ha ha!!!

Spend day today... needed to get some more vegetables and fruit in, and milk. I was worrying I would just blow it and see loads of bargains then I thought...

'Just leave your wallet in the car and take £20'!!!

Why didn't I think of that ages ago??? So simple and really effective. I added stuff up and was forced to think in terms of what I just needed for this week. My shop was considerably smaller and didn't buy any rubbish!!! RESULT!!!

£14.76/£20.00 thank you very much!!! My only slight annoyance was I paid 40p parking to collect a parcel and the post office had closed 1/2 hour ago LOL (have car parking budgeted for separately so no deductions from spends). I know - it's not going to break the bank!!! It did mean I had a nice walk in the sun so I guess it was worth it.

Really REALLY loving my healthy living kick... good food and lots of exercise and I'm feeling slowly but surely better - more positive and stuff. I'd recommend it to everyone!

Planned spend for us today - treat in the cafe at the top of the mountain, and I also had to get some laundry liquid and dog food. I have people coming for dinner tomorriw and that's all planned and purchased so we're looking good for the next couple of days at least!

Wow, that's impressive. Please share your tips, how many are there of you and what do you eat. Just keeping me in basics (pasta, toms, veg, little meat, cereal etc.) is more than that. Wouldn't mind picking up some useful tips. Or do you keep animals, grow your own?

    Cheers

Just me and hubby. We haven't done a proper shop since before Xmas. We had the habit of shopping for the sake of buying. We have bought a shed load of meat from M &S from the swag bucks vouchers. I vowed to run down the cupboards and freezers until empty. We eat things like spag Bol, chilli. Toad in the hole, sausages and mash, roasts.

And it did help that when A's had their APG glitch last year. I bought a bought 50 odd boxes of cereal :-)

I am also going to get my sewing machine out after seeing the great british sewing bee last night. Probably not up to making my own clothes yet but I have tons of fabric around the house which I could turn into something useful.

How did I miss that??? Please tell me which channel and full title - musr t catch up!

  • I survived!! :j:j First double playdate for DD and DS, their best friends are also brother and sister so for 4 hours today I had 4 children. This was for the most part ok - played, went to park, DD smacked head on the roundabout, came home, played although DD was very subdued poor love - she had been so excited about her pal coming and her head was throbbing :( anyway calpol and home made child topped pizzas later things were getting better. Playdates for 4 are fun but the plan to stick to having only two kids is now confirmed!! :rotfl:

Anyways - need to work tonight so I can pack tomorrow, want to go out with a friend tomorrow evening so much to do tomorrow. Off to Cornwall on Friday!!

    Love to all,

Fess up time... have spent £25 so far this challenge, £10 of which was a good supermarket shop but the rest has been odds and ends, mostly comfort food as been going through a bit of stress at the moment. Of course, this never helps and just makes me feel all bloated and yukky (inside, out and in my purse!) but seems I never learn and automatically think feeling a bit down must equal buying junk.

    Well.... NO MORE!

Until the end of Sunday (I am starting with a realistic time target or I am doomed to failure) I am going on a detox. No processed junk, all fresh fruit and veg, wholemeal grains etc and lots and lots of water. Hopefully I will detox myself inside and out and have the added and most welcome benefit of detoxing some of my spending too! :)
