My ex did...he was VERY secretive about his phone and i can assure you it was nothing to do with security! :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have a password on my phone... all perfectly innocent as ive lost phones before when ive been out and the blind panic of wondering if someone has used to it to ring abroad when i am on a contract has been indiscribable. I shall be changing my number in about 4 months time and i'll go on a pay as you go tariff so the urgency wont be there to password it but i'll probably do it anyway as old habits die hard.
Hubby knows ive got a password, he doesnt know what it is but if he asked i'd tell him.
Hubby takes his phone into the bathroom to play solitaire whilst he is on the loo. Nowt wrong with that.
I have to say, i do find the note a little strange.
Has he suddenly started making an extra special effort with his appearance when he goes to work? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Nobody in their right mind would steal my phone - a cheap plastic Nokia C1-01! No password required as any thief would be ever so disappointed in my boring texts - "time are you finishing work mum?" "what's for tea mum?"
Back to the OP - personally I'd be very suspicious of this behaviour. Secrets don't sit well with me.0 -
Wow some of you guys are very trusting! For me, what shouts out is:
- He won't answer the phone in your presence
- The only time he uses the phone when around you is when he skulks off to the bog for 20 minutes
- He loses his rag when you ask why his phone is passworded
- He clears his browser history/he's doing private browsing
To me, that's not a normal state of affairs between a couple and if it were me I'd be whipping a keylogger on to the computer to see what he was up to. I'd recommend eBlaster to do the job; it parcels everything up in a nice, easy-to-read way.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

Is it normal practice to be quizzed about
1) Who was on the phone, what do they want?
2) Why are you timing how long I'm in the loo for?
3) Why are you quizzing me about MY phone, do I ask you about what you do on your phone?
4) Why are you snooping around 'everything' I do?
If ya don't trust me then leave! But don't be giving me a hard time over nothing :mad:0 -

Not necessarily, there are people (male and female) who are very possesive (not the case with the OP) but remember not one size fits all, those that have had insecure possesive partners, will be able to explain the nightmares it can bring, changing your life to re-assure somebody else.0 -
As this is the Money Saving Expert forum I would suggest that before challenging him make a very large withdrawal from the joint bank account and maybe do a bit of shopping on his credit cardIf you wish in this world to advance, your merits you're bound to enhance; You must stir it and stump it, and blow your own trumpet, or trust me, you haven't a chance.0

I have a password protected phone, because if I leave it down for two minutes in work someone will frape me ( or find me naughty pictures to hubby)
Hubby cleans his phone of every call and message daily
He only talks to his daughter when out in the garage
I answered his phone today ( he said grab that) and a withheld number hung up on me
He works away from home
But I trust him.
If the trust goes then he will go a well
There's many a reason some things are private. Surely we are all entitled to privacy , that includes calls, messages and emails0 -
Are there really people out there who DON'T have a password on their phones? Everyone I know does, it's called security. Don't think this is a sign OP, it's very normal. I and my wife have password protected phones and neither of would ever ask to see the others, it's a trust thing.
The fact that you can see his emails and browsing history, (which are both clear of passwords AND any incriminating evidence), says to me he is either the cleverest cheater on the planet or the note you found has a reasonable explanation.
Yeah, me and her neither of us do.
We just have an old "no value" phone each.
But then it's "just" a phone, with a PAYG £5.00 simm, card in, and nothing on there of any interest to any one.
No emails, no pictures, and maybe just a handful of text messages of no importance what so ever.
And this is probably the reason both of us just use older phones, --- if they get lost, dropped, stolen, thrown, then I wouldn't concern me one way or the other - honestly.
By having older non-value phones, I can leave it on my desk all day, knowing no one is going to lift it.
