  • I didn't take one but I didn't need one :) because she only tested it 2 weeks ago. had my blood taken, I don't have a problem with blood tests at all but it did hurt a bit!

bit gutted as my pregnancy is classed as 'high risk' for now until iv had an appointment with a consultant after 20 weeks, because of some laser treatment I had on abnormal cells as a result of a smear 4 years ago... but she said not to dwell on it it doesn't really mean anything, she said they have to write it but the consultant night just see me once and that's it. but we'll see!
  • Hello ladies,

Long time lurker here, actually I'd say I was lurking on the TTC boards rather than here, but I seemed to have some how skipped a stage, with what can only be described as a surprise BFP!

The long and short of it is, I've been charting for about 8 months, and I've got pretty good at noticing patterns, knowing when I've ov, my lutel phase is always 14 days and what was normal pmt. We were looking to start ttc at the end of December, and were every happy with that, turns out I shouldn't have bothered planning at all! :rotfl:

I got to day 15/16 on the lutel phase and was honestly thinking I must have mis-counted my ovulation date, not for one second did I think I could be pg. For the avoidance of doubt I took a cheapy test and when it came back negative, I threw it in the bin. A couple of hours later I had to clear the bins for the bin men and I caught sight of the test which looked, well positive. a tlp, but a second line I've never witnessed before.

With my DH oblivious to the testing, I took a FR test, and the line started coming up almost straight away. I could hear my heart beating and I started to shake. I think my first words to say were "oh f~ck!"

I walked in to the living room holding the test, speechless, poor DH looked at me and thought I was playing a joke... so shocked I dropped the test and said "I'm pregnant". We played a long night of is it a line? DH kept saying shouldn't it be darker?! I had to explain the idea that "a line is a line". He pretty much looked like Ross does in Friends when Rachel tells him she's pregnant.

We've been in a state of shock ever since but it's starting to dawn on us that after testing on 4 proper tests and a dozen cheapies, it's safe to say it's not a false alarm.

So after that mini essay of mine, I leave you with a question- how do I upload a photo and a request, can I join you lovely ladies please? :o

  • Congratulations ilovelondontown! It’s such a shock getting the BFP isn’t it, fantastic at the same time though!

I’m 6+2 today and think I’m starting to get symptoms now, have felt pretty nauseous for the last two days, also so so tired. Hoping these are all good signs.

Exciting for everyone getting their scan appointments through.
  • Congrats londontown! and welcome to the thread. I also silently lurked on the TTC thread (before I'd decided to create an alias), and learnt a lot there.

Can I ask for experiences/opinions please?
Basically how tired is 'normal'? I'm expecting to feel tired, but this is so much more. Completely overwhelming I'm sleeping now bone deep, like I have the flu but without having the flu!
Yesterday I needed a mid morning nap and an afternoon nap and slept for 6 hours extra!! Plus a good nights sleep. And am still yawning today! I am waking quite a bit at night but I don't think enough to account for me needing to rest for 15 minutes after 10 minutes of activity.

It's not helping that husband can't understand and isn't helping... And that I've a carpenter coming tomorrow so on wed I cleared out the under stairs cupboard.... But sadly (and v embarrassingly) the contents isn't yet moved on and I am at a loss how to do it all alone before 9am tomorrow. Husband is out with friends tonight so can't help :(

Sorry, I guess I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself, as well as totally useless.

Robots - for the past 4 weeks I've been sleeping on and off from 8 or 9 pm until 7 pm, then from 10:30 am until 12 pm, then from 2-5 pm on average. I've somehow dropped the morning nap now and am just doing the afternoon one, have been for the past two days.

I would be having naps if only I had the time but I have fallen asleep in front of my computer twice (during the working day). That's never happened before.

    Good evening all.
    Welcome and congratulations londontown!
I haven't had time to catch up properly so please forgive me if I've missed something.
I had my booking in appointment yesterday, filling in the long green booklet seemed to take forever. I have an appointment for bloods on the 20th and my scan early in the new year, I can't remember the exact date. Still no symptoms. 7 weeks today.
I picked up my Bounty pack from Asda this evening. Too many leaflets but I also got the cute little towel and a pack of three muslins so they will be useful.
I just noticed your post Robots. Hope you're ok. I'm fine at the moment (and that is with getting up during the night) but last time I remember feeling a lot more exhausted than usual at the end of a day. I was usually fine in a morning.
    Love to all. X
  • Welcome ilovelondontown been stalking you a bit (in a nice way!!) since we were on WTT together. So glad to see you here :)

I always use photobucket for photos. Free and dead easy to sign up and upload photos, then you just C&P the code.

I was shocked at how quick I got up duffed too, at my age I was prepared for the long haul.
  • Sorry you've had trouble sleeping Mrs_T_M, hope it improves soon. I seem to have the opposite problem, I could sleep for England, but I'm still always knackered. The nausea is kicking in a bit now. I don't think I'll actually be sick, I'm not much of a vomiter, but it's bad if I don't eat regularly.
  • Thanks for the reassurance ladies.

I've not managed anywhere near what I should have... But scrubbing the tiles under the stairs was such hard work!

Also thanks to whoever said a few days ago about eating frequently, simple advice but it is helping my nausea (which although mild, was bad by evening cooking for husband when I was so past wanting to eat).

Hoping everyone sleeps well tonight x
