Indeed :) though saying that, i think my dates might fall back a little -am convinced i am not quite as far along as that - probably about a week out but have to go by LMP date :)

My sickness feeling has subsided - i realised milk was making me feel quite nauseous - though heartburn has been an issue the last two days !!
  • 3 people with the same scan date of the 10th :) that's nice! my scan is the day before on the 9th. I'm in the same boat as everyone else worrying about it. I'm also dying to just tell everyone, get it out of the way!

been so tired for the last couple of days, think my night shifts really took their toll. off to the midwife in a minute, I think it's just for a blood test so I'm unsure whether to take a urine sample. hmm.

I was told by mine to always take one to every appointment :) so maybe take it in case.... she can always give you a replacement bottle if not needed. better than going there with an empty bladder ;) haha!!

My scan was originally 9th too but the time was middle of the day and myself and partner both work so we got a late appointment on 10th instead - an extra day to wait!

Most of our family friends all know now - we found out very early on and couldn't wait to tell!

The sickness is better, but I woke up at 6 am hungry/nauseated, ate most of a banana and sipped a bit of water and was able to fall back asleep for 15 minutes before the alarm went off at 7. I'm trying to keep nibbling on things and to stay awake more, but I'm sooooo tired! When I sleep, I go for too long without eating I've found, which makes me nauseated and grumpy. I've started taking snacks upstairs when we go to bed! :o

Just delurking to say my midwife told me it was always best to take snacks to bed, and even to keep some biscuits/cereal bars/anything in my handbag, throughout pregnancy

And a note on urine samples the midwife requests one every time I see her so probably best to take one. In my area it's just a dipstick to check for protein/protein levels so a very quick one and then they give it back to you to dispose of *ick*

Good luck to you DH Mrs_T_M! I'm sure it will go well :)

I didn't get another urine bottle tube thingie to take in to my next appointment (the nurse gave me one to bring to my booking appt). Should I have gotten one at the booking appt, or can I just stop by the GP's office and request one for my next appointment? I'm not going to take a jar of pee in!

    Definitely agree with this!

I still carry snacks as I'm still nauseous at 23 weeks!

I have the same deal with the peeing too, once I forgot I had a pot in my bag for a couple of days, luckily it didn't come out when I pulled a snack out eh!

At my gps reception you can ask for some, or last time I forgot and just popped out in the appt to do it.
  • Seconding what Claire said, I always ask for an extra one at the reception desk if I know I have another appointment in case the mw forgets to give me a fresh one!

We can also get a couple at the scan clinic (although we've had both scans now :( boo)

  • Wow, 10th is a good day for scans (and fireyfirenze on 9th!) My DH was so sure we'd have it on Friday 13th :)

Mr TM - let us know how your DH gets on!

My snacks of choice this week are all festive. Cadbury Snow Bites, satsumas and mince pies, yum!
