Hi moonbabe, I hope its nothing.
I had some brown spotting at the weekend but it seems to have stopped now and I didnt have any pain or cramps so I am hoping its ok. I will ask the midwife about it when i see her tomorrow.0 -
Hi all. Hope everyone is ok.
Devildolly, my midwife rang me last week and I have my first appointment for filling in my green booklet thingy on Thursday at almost seven weeks. Last time, however, I was left to my own devices until ten weeks. I find you get more advice on here anyway.
Welcome Carrie1982.
Sunshine, I hope you're feeling a bit better.
Moonbabe, I hope everything is fine. Have you spoken to the midwife yet?
As for me, I'm still full of cold and would love to be able to just curl up on the sofa but I can't. OH is at work until eight so I will make him look after me when he gets back.
Love to all. X0 -
Called the EPU, they said it is probably nothing to worry about, but best to check, so I am getting a scan tomorrow morning.
Fingers crossed it is all ok and it is just an opportunity to see baby bean again!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -
Moonbabe, I hope it’s nothing, good luck with the scan tomorrow.
I had my appointment with my GP, she was really nice but aside from checking my blood pressure etc it was pretty pointless, it was just for her to refer me to a midwife. Apparently I should see a midwife before 10 weeks, so before Christmas I hope, it seems quite late given that it’s my first time and I’m pretty clueless but sounds like its fairly typical.
Strangest thing about the doctor’s appointment was actually telling someone I am pregnant, 6 weeks tomorrow so haven’t told anyone yet. When is everyone planning on telling people? I’m not sure I can wait until the scan, especially since I’ll see my family at Christmas but then not sure when I’ll see them next.0 -
Good luck for tomorrow moonbabe, hope you have a lovely scan.
Kitty - I told my parents at 6 weeks and we told my in-laws at 9 weeks. They are all coming to us for Christmas so I was hoping to make a Christmas Day announcement, but we just couldn't hold out that long! I have also told 1 colleague at work, and she said she already guessed because I have been eating so much. I usually start on my lunch around 10am these days. I dont plan to tell anyone else until after the 12 week scan.
Sat at work now wearing really tight trousers. Desperate to get home and get my comfy PJ bottoms on0 -
moonbabe, I hope all goes well for you tomorrow xx
Carrie, Welcome to the thread, congrstulstions x and I hope it's not come back x
Kitty - odd isn't it? We found out on a Saturday, the first person I told was the lady in Primark! I went in to take back a couple of xmas going out outfits as I guessed they wouldn't fit and I didn't need to spend the money with new priorities! She didn't quibble, even for 1 top that had lost its tag!
Our parents know, and on Sunday I told a v close friend as I shan't see her till January now. It made me so happy she was so happy:)
However, husband has decided to tell his manager and a couple of others at work today(actually probably right now! Eek!)... Before telling the rest of his company next week! He wants them to know before the Xmas party so I'll be cherished not made fun of for not drinking & gaining weight! (without lying to them.. Which I'd have been happy to do!) (but I've Lost weight!! Though my boobs are bigger!) which reminds me, my underwear lady knows! And she was delighted! She sold me my wedding underwear and honeymoon stuff, so it only felt right I tell her!
I'm nearly 9 weeks. I think. Midwife doesn't go in for "that + whatever" nonsense(!) So last Monday she said I was 7, by Wed she said I was 8!Please forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -

I was the same, it was the first time I'd said it in public.
OH and I are wondering when to tell people. I'm tempted to wait until second trimester, partly to be sure things are OK and partly because then I can announce it on my birthday, which feels fantastically filmic.0 -
Kitty, in the same situation. Whole family coming at Christmas, but will only be around 10 weeks so not too happy about telling people until I have at least seen/spoken to a midwife, and got the scan booked in.
Also not expecting to hear anything until 10 weeks. As far as I can tell, the only person other than OH who knows I am pregnant is the receptionist at the surgery! It took me 46 minutes to get through on the phone last time but am tempted to make sure they have passed my details along if I havent heard anything in 2-3 weeks (will be 9-10 by then).
The lack of symptoms is my main worry. The more reading I do around this, the more worried I get, hence why I am keen to see if everything is OK sooner rather than later.
Good luck for those with scans soon, and hope those feeling poo feel better. x0 -
Thanks for the replies, pleased other people have told people before the scan, it seems a bit rash but then they’re the people we’d tell if something went wrong anyway. I’ll be 10 weeks (exactly?!) on Christmas day, I’m leaning towards telling people on Boxing day instead – that way it will be less filmic as you put it Violalass! I’d love to do a big announcement, it just feels a bit premature before the scan, I think it will be amazing telling everyone on your birthday!
Robots I’m quite amused about you telling the lady in Primark, my friend told her hairdresser first. Hope your husband gets on ok telling his work.
Devildolly, I mentioned my lack of symptoms to the doctors today and she wasn’t concerned, said it was fairly normal it’s just that you hear about people who suffer morning sickness etc more than people who are fine. Try not to worry too much if you can.0 -
Scan went well, there is definitely a little person in there, turning somersaults and with a beating heart! I am more reassured now and only 9 more days until my next scan
Having to wait nearly 2 hours for the scan with a full bladder and feeling sick was not so good though!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0
