I think the lo is having a growth spurt! Woke at 4 am hungry, had half of a nutragrain bar, woke at 7 (with the alarm), waited until DH left for work at 8:30 to eat, had a bowl of shredded wheat, went to Aldi (half mile walk each way, so nice and fairly easy exercise), ended up buying more than I planned (oops!), got home, made a pizza, ate said pizza, and now a second one is in the oven! Planning on making chicken marsala (only without the wine, so I guess, chicken and mushrooms?) for dinner tonight and I have some homemade 'refried' beans and tortilla chips with cheese and salsa to have as a snack if/when I get hungry before dinner.

  • yay Lara I'm so happy for you! even though its 3 weeks away at least you have something to look forward to :) mine is 2 weeks today, it's going slow.

survived my first night shift as a pregnant woman! ha! wasn't particularly different I was worried id be more tired etc...only thing that I did notice is going for a wee every 15 minutes! which is annoying ha.

I've just had my first day's work knowing that I was pregnant - felt shattered (slept appallingly) and dizzy at one point when I had to shout to be heard over the kids. I'm going to have to develop strategies to avoid the shouting PDQ.

Packed myself off home for the afternoon as feeling rough. Didn't think I could get through another lesson. Felt bad not telling concerned colleagues the truth!
  • Good afternoon all. Just spoken to a midwife and have an appointment for Thursday to fill in forms etc. I forgot to ask so does anyone know if I need to take a urine sample with me the first time?
Lara, exciting that you now have a scan date.
Mrs TM, hope you're enjoying the feeding frenzy.
Fireyfirenze, the toilet trips are a bit annoying aren't they?
Violalass, I hope you're feeling a little better for a rest and that the dizziness isn't too bad. Don't overdo things.
I've had a baking afternoon - flapjack, banana muffins and chocolate brownies. Yum. (Obviously still no symptoms here!)
    Love to all. X
  • claretsgirl I had to take a sample of urine with me, it said on the letter that I got with my first appointment for the midwife. she also said bring one everytime I have an appointment :) so I'd take one just in case!
