Hi ladies, just a bit of advice please.
I've now been bleeding for 6 days. It's bright red (not a dark purple colour like AF normally is), and there is quite a bit. Also have a dull ache. In other words, it feels exactly like my normal AF except blood colour is different. Really trying to stay positive but I'm scared. Have been in bed all day resting, OH is really supportive but I can tell he's worried.
Thing is I had bleeding with DS which I assumed was a AF hence me not finding out I was pg for a while. But I can't remember if it was this bad? Really not sure it's worth going back to a+e again as I'm only 4 weeks and they've asked me to come back at 6 weeks for another scan as it's just too early to say if everything is ok now. Do I just ride it out? I've never had a mc before so I have no idea if this is one.
Any advice gratefully received xx0 -
Oh Dusty, I'm thinking of you. I don't really know anything myself, other than what ive read here.... So i think you should call 111 (new 'might be an emergency' phone number, like NHS direct). See what they say for your situation and where you live. Then Maybe go to A&E or Early pregnancy unit if one is open near you, if you are able?
*big hugs* xxxPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... I am a long time contributor who needed to reclaim anonymity for health/job related posts.0 -
Thanks Robots, I think I'll see how I go overnight then call the EPU first thing. I'm not that ill iykwim, it is just exactly like my normal period. Guess I just need to know if this is happening or not

Really sorry to hear this Dusty. Although they may not be willing to do a scan until 6 weeks or so, you can ask them to check your hCG levels are doubling with a series of blood tests. Hopefully they are, this is an implantation bleed and all is well, but at least you'd know either way :grouphug:0

Mrs T_M: I hope you manage to get the birth you want. It sounds like your midwife is a bit out of line writing that on your notes. Could you change me to thread graduate on the first page of the ttc thread please? I got my BFP on 09/11/13. Many thanks xx
Have done.
Dusty, I hope that everything works out for you. *hugs*0 -

At the EPU this week I was told that if I get bright red bleeding to ring them straightaway. If I were you I'd either go see the out of hours doctor or go to A&E if your EPU is closed (mine is only open office hours). They might not be able to scan you before 6 weeks but they can do bloods to check the hcg levels are where they should be. They did say red blood doesn't always mean the worst and some women can bleed throughout pregnancy but it does need to be checked. Brown blood isn't much of a worry unless it's really heavy. I hope the bleeding eases up soon for you and the other ladies currently experiencing it, I know myself how worrying it can be. Hugs to you all.
claretsgirl sorry some of your family and friends will not be supportive. I'm not married either, and my grandma was still trying to persuade me that I should get married when 8 months pregnant with DS, offering to pay for a registry office for me, I refused. She was pleased about DS but not so pleased I remain umarried by choice. I don't see the problem as OH are together and intend on staying together, I just don't want to get married.0 -
Huge hugs ((((((Dusty))))) I am sure you are feeling so worried. I agree with the other ladies, about contacting the out of hours GP today, or EPU tomorrow - whichever you feel most comfortable with. Thinking of you x
Moonbabe big hugs too, hope everything has calmed down now.
Hello to the new members
I'm worrying today because my symptoms seem to have dramatically died down. I have only had a little nausea/hunger for the last two mornings, instead of the usual all-day hangover feeling. It seems early at 9+4 for that to be stopping. Also my bbs are just a bit tender now, not sore.
I'm overjoyed to be able to eat actual food again, but scared too as a loss of symptoms was a bad sign for me last time, although I know it isn't alwaysIt's hard to put those feelings away.

Lara - I'm 10+1 today, and for the past 3-4 days I haven't had any nausea, and have actually eaten enough to nearly make myself sick once! I did wake up hungry at 6 this morning though. Boobs aren't hurting any more (yay!), and I'm not having any symptoms either. I'm just enjoying it while I can in case they come back, and if not, I'm not going to worry about it. I'm just happy that I can eat again!0

Lara don't worry I'm exactly the same. 10+1 today I haven't felt sick for at least 3 or 4 days and my boobs aren't as sore anymore, just slightly uncomfortable. it's made me worry a lot about my upcoming scan I just hope everything's going to be okay. so don't worry you're not on your own
only symptom iv had in the last couple of days is extreme emotions! crying at everything and generally feeling a bit miserable. I worked yesterday and I found it really difficult and stressful and a couple of tears escaped. managed to pull myself together though!
going to a vintage fair today and then tonight is my first of 3 night shifts, be interesting to see how I manage them! not done any since iv been pregnant.0 -
Mahoosive hugs Dusty I know how worried you feel as I've had almost constant spotting and one properly heavy bleed too. It's awful isn't it? Hope it's good news for you x x
Hugs Larafor your disappearing symptoms. It's such a stressful time this early pregnancy malarkey isn't it? I hope you're ok.
