So, for anyone wondering, eating two frozen margarita pizzas and then taking a nap is a great way to wake up with heartburn. I don't think I'll ever learn though!
At least you're allowed to eat them. My husband seems to have taken my 'I'm always hungry' to mean that I'm going to overeat and is trying to stop me having snacks!
I know it's because he loves me but I don't appreciate. In nine months, all being well, he'll have something he can baby as much as he likes. No need to start on me!0 -
We went to a chinese buffet last night with a big group of friends... And it was Lovely! I ate quite a bit, it was the first time I'd fancied eating (as a posed to simply needing to eat) for agesPlease forgive the badly spelt alias... Still no symptoms here apart from the odd cramp. Not overly worried...yet. Still no contact from anyone. As I only have the confirmation through a home preg test, its still not feeling real until someone else tells me...sounds crazy I know! My doctors are a bit useless. All I got was a form to tell me when appointments will be, and it looks like I wont see anyone until at least 10-11 weeks. GP wouldn't see me, and I have no idea who to contact for any questions as I received no info at all, they just passed my details along to the antenatal unit. Does 10 weeks seem a long time before someone should contact me? I was expecting to get some more info before then to explain what I should be doing, e.g. folic acid etc. Feeling a little lost. Seems in my area if your under 12 weeks, your on your own. When did you all get contacted first?0

I did a walk in visit (my gp's office has a walk in centre) and saw a nurse who put my details into the system and on my record, and told me to go speak with reception about making a midwife appointment for when I was 8 weeks. The midwives are only at my gp's office on Mondays and Tuesdays, but at least they are at the same place.
My next two appointments are all the way over at the hospital, which means £9 gone each day for bus fares for myself and DH.0 -
Hi Devildolly
It's much the same here, except you have a GP's appointment to get the referral to antenatal services. During the appointment I got the flu jab, and some leaflets on maternity services, but that was all. Your GP might have a flu clinic you can access.
Our booking appointments are in two parts - half at around 10 weeks and half with the 12 week scan. So yeah, not much contact here either really.
I looked up the vitamin recommendations and foods to avoid on the NHS website. It's definitely folic acid and I think also vitamin D.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Hi all, I have been lurking for a few weeks but finally joining you now. I am 10+1 today. First pregnancy.
Devildolly - I called my GP at 5 weeks expecting all sorts of fuss and appointments, but they just took my details and told me the midwife would call me "before 12 weeks"! I heard from the midwife last week at 9+2 and I have my booking in appointment tomorrow (10 + 2) Very excited!0 -
Congrats and welcome Carrie1982!
It seems early antenatal care is different for each area! No consistency in the NHS haha what a surprise!
Had my booking in appointment part 2 today. It felt a bit rushed, but hey ho it's done now. I didn't get weighed, which surprised me.
Anyway, I'm apparently low risk which is good. They took blood, I got in a right mess about it as it's always been so hard to find a vein in the past, so I've come home and am watching a bit of TV to regain my composure before I go to work.
Next stop.. the scan in nine days time!!
11+1 x0 -
Welcome to the new ladies
Not sure how I am today ,I have had light brown discharge the past few days and today I had a little bit of red blood when I wipedThink I may call the midwife and see what she says. Had an early scan at 7+6 and all was ok then so really hoping it is nothing to worry about :S
