Good luck Sweaty Betty. I had spotting couple weeks ago and I've been fine since. They can check to see if your cervix is open or not - but even if its slightly open - all can still be ok. Will keep my fingers crossed for you hun xx

    Thinking of you Betty x
  • Kayalana, I was 14 weeks when I had my 1st scan (the dr forgot to refer me!) but I asked if they could tell if it was a boy or girl and when she turned to give me a disapproving look, both OH & myself pointed & said, look it's a boy!! Which she confirmed. Couldn't believe how clear things were at just 14 weeks. It's amazing how quickly everything grows.

I'm sitting here tonight and sure I felt something move. Hubby thinks I'm further on than 4+2 but I think I just made it up lol. He's convinced he felt something too, surely not.

Thanks all. I'm now home, the test results were clear (although they were very vague about what the tests actually were) and bleeding has stopped for now. So fingers crossed things will be OK. I'm going to take it easy for the next couple of days to be on the safe side though.

    Thanks again.

Glad to hear that Betty - will you be going back for more tests in a few days?

Must be very worrying, hopefully it's all nothing and you'll be back to normal soon.

After much deliberation over the nuchal test, I decided to pay for an Addmark scan privately, which is much more accurate than the NhS test (false positive rate only 0.5%).
The scan part went well, nuchal only 1.3mm and they checked 4 other soft markers which were all normal. I then had bloods taken and have to wait til Thursday to get the results, but sonographer said it was all looking good so far. I think it's unusual, but not impossible, to get bad blood results after a good scan.

She also checked all the main parts of the baby's body like spine, kidneys, stomach etc and said it was as normal as could be.
I asked if there were any indications of gender and she said it was 70% likely to be a girl!

Finger's crossed for the blood test results on Thursday, if they come back good then I'll breathe a sigh of relief and graduate from this board!

Glad the scan went well and hope the blood test results are the same:)

Apparently my visit to A&E will be logged with the gynae emergency dept tomorrow and they'll contact me if they think necessary. However, if there's even a hint of bleeding tonight I'll give the EPU (which I think is the same thing) a call tomorrow.

So pleased to hear all is ok Betty. It's so worrying when that happens. I literally stayed in bed and let hubby do everything for a few days after. Glad to hear you're going to take it easy - nothing else matters. X
