Hormones are in full swing today definitely! Just cried at a story on the RSPCA show, and just cried at the end of an episode of How I Met Your Mother! Whaaaaaaa!!!!!!

    I never cry!

Now I just need to have a break down in the middle of the supermarket to round it out...

Aquamarine - that sounds scary but lovely that you got to see your happyhealthy bean :). I had the same with my DS too so I'm not too worried this time around about my spotting - even though I'm now in day 4. Will await my scan in 2 weeks tho to make sure alls well

Congrats KittyKittyKitty - welcome to the most terrifying/exciting 9 months ;)

Have seen another job at work I might want to apply for, it;s permanent. Think I'm going to broach the subject with my boss tomoorow as to whether or not my contract is likely to be extended in March. Much prefer this current job to the one that is advetised but I figure I could apply, get it, then go off in June on full mat pay and look for something else while off :) - that's on teh assumption I get it of course
  • Thanks for the kind wishes ladies, I was more worried that the doctor thought it warranted a trip to the EPU than the bleeding itself. Glad I got myself checked out though as I will be able to relax now. I took today off work (was at the hospital until after lunch anyway) but am going back in tomorrow. The last nurse I spoke to said I'm fine to continue as normal.

Hope anyone else experiencing spotting/bleeding is also OK.

    welcome Kitty!
  • glad everything seems to be okay aquamarine monkey :)

feeling really sorry for myself today cos I had such a crap day yesterday. none pregnancy related but I need to rant anyway! first of all I discovered the freezer had just stopped working meaning all the food had defrosted and was just a squishy mess so it all had to be thrown. lost about £40-£50 of food.

then I went to the Christmas markets with OH at night, went to have a bite of something and felt this crunch and tooth broke! one at the back. I thought it had just chipped but when I looked the whole side of it has gone :-/ feel so upset and embarrassed. so have to make an emergency dentist appointment today. also I haven't got one of those maternity exemption forms yet (has anybody else?!) so I'll have to pay which is something I really could have done without. :(

as for pregnancy symptoms I must say I can tell in the last few days my boobs are definitely not as sore and iv not been feeling too sick! but this also makes me slightly worried ha.

ah it's all fun and games eh :-/

As long as you've been to the GP and your pregnancy is on record, you can go and request a maternity exemption form from them before your booking in appointment! Just tell them why and it shouldn't be an issue.

I received mine at the booking in appointment, but I needed a prescription before then, so the GP just wrote 'patient is pregnant' on the prescription and it was free! :)

We have discovered that my mobile number is wrong on my form, so I have to go get and fill out another.

iv had my first doctors appointment and my booking in appointment but it wasn't mentioned at either of them. iv made my dentist appointment and it's not until half 2 so maybe I could ring the doctors for one this morning? I just know it has to be signed by them so it's probably too short notice.

Just tell them that it's an emergency. It would be worth trying at least. :)

  • Fiery - do you have your green booklet yet? My midwife told me that's be enough proof to see dentist / get prescriptions etc.

If not, then simply tell your dentist. I had to see mine in my 2 week wait... (But not the successful month!)... So on the arrival form where it asks Pregnant? I asked the receptionist. She said if I had a due date then itd count. Hope that helps?

thank you, iv got my maternity notes so I was thinking of taking them along with me. I rang the doctors and I can go and pick up an exemption form today, it won't be signed but I can hand it back into them.

wish I could get a grip of my emotions, just cried for a good 15 minutes about my tooth ha :( going to go round and see my mum soon.
