Congrats Cllola, such a relief and I love your Douglas Adams reference!
Dusty, that sounds fairly worrying, i hope thing are all ok.
I had my 2nd booking appointment today - talking over breast feeding, birth place choice, foods to avoid, about sure start centres, and we booked my Consultant appointment there and then - for just before Xmas! I also found out I'll be having 1-2 extra scans so I guess that isn't a bad thing.
Something funny happened though - she started to warn me about gyms & weights then said "no sorry I guess that doesn't apply" (I'm overweight so she assumed I am unfit and don't exercise)... So I told her I have my own weights, and before BFP I was training 3 nights a week doing full contact high impact sport, plus squats, plus I do wild cold water swimming... I showed her my calf with its big muscles!!She looked quite abashed! :rotfl: then suggested I lay off the extreme sports! (which of course I have!) She's really nice and I felt bad for being a total contradiction
:o

Wey hey Cllola!!!! Big congratulations
Very big hugs (((((Wang))))) and (((((Dusty))))) I think the hardest part is just having to wait. Hope you're both feeling okay.
Lol, Robots glad you set her right. It doesn't do to stereotype people and what she said was actually a little rude. I'm within the "healthy" BMI range and I am absolutely unfit and wouldn't know how to do any of the cool stuff you do!
Hope things all went well Sophiasmum.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Think I've figured out what's causing my intermittent spotting. Sneezing! I sneeze extremely hard, which includes a whole body spasm. Guessing it puts enough pressure on my cervix to irritate it and cause a bit of spotting. If it isn't one thing, it's another huh?0

Hugs to wangdoodle. I hope you are resting up. Can they not at least do some blood tests to confirm your hcg levels are still rising whilst it's too early to scan you?
Congratulations on your scan cllola and phew that it is only one!
Hugs to you and fingers crossed you've just got your dates wrong dusty.
Mrs T M glad to hear you've managed to find out what's causing your spotting, must be such a relief!
Hope your scan went well sophiasmum.
AFM, nausea continuing to get gradually worse, had a couple of close calls at work but still managing not to be sick yet. Starting to want plainer food now so it's only a matter of time!
Had my blood pressure checked and it's gone back to normal which is a relief. 7 weeks today - it's going quite quick!0 -

It's a relief to have possibly figured it out, but not so good that the only way I can stop a sneeze is to stick my finger up my nose!
Guess it's a good thing I stay home most of the time huh?0 -

Morning everyone!
Congratulations to Sophiasmum and Cllola on your scans yesterday
Felt very sick this morning, but only the little sips of water I had came up. Now feeling a lot better though :S I have had some mid brownish discharge this morning, my H keeps assuring me that it is normal, but it is worrying to say the least!
Scan in just over 2 weeks, don't think I will properly relax until after the 20 week scan though!Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!0 -
Hello ladies,
Congratulations on your successful scan sophiasmum.
moonbabe hope everything is ok.
AFM, woke up this morning and there was blood in my knickers, and there was a large brown blob when I wiped. So, I took my own advice and stayed calm and sought medical attention. Managed to get a mid morning appointment with one of the GPs. She was lovely and rang the EPU at the hospital there and then whilst I was in the room and got me an appointment for 25 minutes later (hospital is 20 mins away). Arrived at the EPU and was directed to the waiting room, then saw a midwife who she took some notes and I had to sign a consent form for an internal scan as she said they prefer to scan that way before 10 weeks. Then went back to the waiting room and the sonographer came and got me, she decided she was going to try the traditional scan method first and if she couldn't see anything then she'd do an internal scan. The screen was turned away from me while she did all the checks, then at the end she said there is is a yolk sac and a baby with a heartbeat. There's just the one in there (phew!).She showed me a playback on the screen, it was really really tiny (it's about 8mm) and it was just like a bean, it looked quite blurry, and I couldn't make anything out except a bean and then a little heartbeat pumping away, doesn't look like it's got any arms or legs yet but it looks fine so that's the main thing. After the scan I had to go back to the waiting room, then I saw another nurse who explained the results, and said everything was where it should be. They were all lovely. She said if I have any more brown discharge not to worry, that's fine. If the bleeding gets heavier or is bright red then I'm to ring the EPU unit back directly.
So a very busy morning, but at least I know there's no risk of an ectopic pregnancy now and I won't need to worry if I have any more brown discharge. I wasn't that worried anyway as I had the same with DS so I just followed the advice I was given. Also, I won't be panicking if my dating scan ends up being after Xmas now, because I know there is a baby, it seems happy at the moment and it's in the right place.0 -
Hi ladies
Mind if I join you? I got my BFP a week ago and since then have been feeling a mixture of total joy and sheer terror! It’s the first time for us both and though the baby is very much wanted (we’d talked about trying for years before we actually did), it’s all quite overwhelming! I phoned up for a doctor’s appointment but couldn’t get one until next Thursday so until then I’m relying on google (and now this thread!) to help me work out what on earth is going on in my body. Anyway, I think I’m around 5 weeks now so think I’m due in late July. Not had too many symptoms yet, had a bit of stomach ache, similar to AF, but that doesn’t seem to be as bad today (I hope this is normal…), also my boobs feel tender and I’m convinced they’re a bit bigger but that might just be in my head!
AquamarineMonkey that sounds pretty scary, hope you’re ok, must have been amazing to see the heartbeat though.0 -
Aquamarine oh that must have been scary. I'm glad they gave you good care and advice, and thankyou for sharing it with us. I'll be thinking of you.
Kitykitykity welcome and Congratulations! I was in Exactly the same situation a few weeks ago! What you wrote could have been me. I'm a little less terrified now!
As for me, I dreamed last night I was spotting, so was relieved I wasnt on waking. It's been 2 weeks now since I have. But I had to describe it yesterday to the midwife so I guess it reminded my subconcious.
Had my Job centre meeting today, and the lady was very kind and understanding (which I didn't expect for some reason). So let's see if a highly specialised, dyslexic, depressed pregnant lady is wanted anywhere! Please forgive the badly spelt alias...
