hey mysecretalias every little bit of info helps! I didn't know about Fisher Price... must be very MSE, I googled it and got a link to the Freebies MSE forum :T My midwife only gave me my pregnancy notes, nothing else! But I see her again in 2 weeks (my booking in is split into two parts?!??!??!) so I'll ask then, thanks!
I've done very little today (except see the doc who reassured me everything down below is normal and referred me for CBT to help my OCD in the absence of tablets), and I've been considering going to bed for the past hour! I've got such tired legs! I've been doing loads of cross stitch this year and I haven't even had the energy for that today!!!0 -
sunshine and firey we're definitely in different NHS areas. I'm not even as far north as Manchester, but not a million miles away about 45 mins to an hour by car.
I hope they don't split my booking in appointment into 2, they didn't with DS1 but it was so long ago I don't remember everything in full. Mind you, my line manager at work knows and work legally have to allow you reasonable time off and travel time to antenatal appointments so I don't suppose it matters so long as the midwife requests my scan at the first one. I think my colleagues will become suspicious if I start attending loads of appointments because they've been split out though. I'm hoping for an earlier scan rather than a late one as I was already showing at 12 weeks last time, so I want to be able to tell people knowing everything is OK before people start guessing.
Talking of breathlessness I carried fast asleep DS1 in from the car and up the stairs to bed (he weighs about 15kg), it must have been about 25 metres max and I was panting by the time I put him down!0 -
Another tip for freebies/offers is to join up to the Tesco/Asda/Sainsburys etc baby clubs, loads of vouchers and advance notice of any baby events and offers.
I got a Boots advantage card and joined their baby club recently (after seeing the changing bag) A load of vouchers came a few days ago, along with the bag one, so I went and got it today-it's in the baby stuff stash in the boot of my car to be slowly brought into the house when no-one is looking!
Also, mamas and papas have a 30% off sale just now, I have ordered 2 pairs of work trousers and a pair of jeans, which came to about £45-I had to get a wee pack of vests to bump it up to over £50 to get free delivery!0 -
Think I must be the only southerner on here.....I'm all the way down in South London!!!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -

Oh... You don't count then
Actually saying I'm a south east Laaaaaandaner paints me in slightly a bad light......really I should be saying I'm from Surrey as that sounds more posh
I was born in Croydon though.....and that's where my little one is going to be born.....not really doing my child any favours already am I LOLOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
Slightly random conversation diversion here but sat in bed with the ipad on my lap typing.....I've just looked down and realised my belly is ridiculously hairy....it's like it's growing an extra coating for the winter!!!
Is this common in pregnancy or am I just becoming abnormally hairy?!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Sadly it's normal, it doesn't get much better after pregnancy either, or maybe it's just me that could audition for the part of a yeti lol. I dread to think how hairy I'm going to get this time.0 -

I would probably rather go pregnant than with an 8 week old. But I have no reference point on either having an 8 week old or being 36 weeks pregnant so that's a pure guess for me!!! But do airlines even let you fly at 36 weeks? I might be tempted to push it forward (and go between 30-34 weeks ish) if you were able to. I'd be scared of going into early labour in a foreign country lol!
We're going with easyjet and they allow upto the end if the 36th week, but other airlines say 34, so there must be a reason?
Dustystar personally I'd be too scared to fly anywhere so late in pregnancy - I wouldn't go further than an hour away from my hospital in the last few weeks! Different airlines have different policies as to how late they will let you fly. You might be ok going out at 36 weeks but I don't think many will let you fly at 37/38 weeks even with a doctors note.[/QUOTE]
Eek it's scary, although at least having the baby in my arms rather than in my Tum I know it's safesophiasmum wrote: »Congrats Vickyviks!
DustyStar - I would be more inclined to take a small baby abroad rather than fly at 36 weeks pregnant.... I had my first child when I was 38 weeks!!Anything can happen...
!
I. Inclined to agree. Worse thing is we have friends booked to come sinus, was a full on wedding planning trip. So either they'll go on their own to a country they weren't particularly bothered about or they'll have to pay to love too. They have a ds same age as ours and I was so looking forward to them holidaying together0 -
