I went into the docs on my way home from work to moan at them so they advised me to fill out another which I have done and they're going to get the doc to sign it and send it off again.
Ooh! I wondered where I get this from. Do you get the actual form from your GP? I might not need any prescriptions now, but I guess I might at some point.
Another admin type thing... when do you get your first bounty pack? Bounty website says 12 week booking in appointment but that doesn't always exist, my booking in part 1 was at 8 weeks and part 2 is at 11 weeks! Both with a midwife at the GP surgery.
Aquamarinemonkey, don't know if we're local, I'm in Bury, started to save up pound coins for the scan machine ha x0 -
oh sunshine we are close aren't we
I was in bury today.

Received my form yesterday from the midwife. Sent it with DH today because he is picking up a prescription for me. We will mail it out later this week.
For the bounty pack, I received a form to fill out and turn it in at Boots or Superdrug to pick it up, as well as a form to fill out and turn in for the first Emma's Diary pack at Boots or Argos. Picked up the Emma's Diary one yesterday, and completely forgot to pick up the Bounty one! Sent that with DH as well. Figured that he could pick it up for me while he was picking up my prescription.0 -
Ooh never heard of Emma's diary, thanks Mrs_T_M I've managed to register online and it's given me a voucher to print and take to Boots or Argos.
Will ask the midwife when I see her on the 26th about the Bounty pack, I am NEVER one to miss out on a freebie!!!!!!
Very close Fireyfirenze!0 -
sunshine - I had the Emmas Diary app form when I had my booking in apt and then had my first Bounty Pack when I went for my *12* week scan. It had some pregnacare tablets and some decaff tea in it I think!!0

No clue what is in the Bounty one (DH says they're out of stock in the Boots store! eek!), but in the Emma's Diary one it had a sample of All Bran with red berries (I'm allergic to barley, so DH gets that one), a full size pack of fragrance free J&J wipes, a trial size bottle of J&J baby oil, trial size bottle of J&J nappy cream, trial size bottle of J&J top to toe wash, and a sample of Palmers massage lotion for stretch marks and Palmers tummy butter for stretch marks.
In my pack from the midwife there was a mum&me sample of bump stretch mark cream as well.
I've already gotten an aptamil plushie polar bear, cow and gate plushie cow and cow and gate toddler tumblers (2) just for signing up to e-mails.
Also, I know it's early, but if you're even thinking about using cloth/reusable nappies, research your council to see if they have any incentives for them. Our city council doesn't, but the county council will refund £30 out of a £45 minimum purchase of nappies, wraps, and/or inserts. That varies around the country though, so do your research.
For the prescription/maternity exemption thingie, any medications, even vitamins, thrush treatments, etc, if you need them, try to get them on prescription. Even if they say no, at least you tried, and most GP's understand that you're trying to save money for the little one!0 -

The exemption form is from your doctors reception. You fill in a form, they pass it onto your doctor to sign, then they send it off to the nhs medical exemption people who are *supposed* to create a little card for you and send it to you. Needless to say mine has never arrived
If anyone has one and it happens to have a phone number for those magical people on please let me know - I want to phone them and tell them to get a move on!!
Re: whooping cough I will definitely be having it. In my opinion, anything my doctor strongly recommends for me and my baby I won't be arguing against. But that's just my feelings!!
Re: Bounty packs: When you go for your midwife booking in appointment they will give you a little first pack with your medical notes. Inside the pack will be a voucher to fill in and you can take it to boots, superdrug, Argos, kiddicare or a few other places. Boots are rubbish!! I went in there a couple of times and each time they just said oh no we've not got any and couldn't even tell me when they might get them in. In the end I took it to superdrug instead and they couldn't be nicer and gave me one straight away.
In my bounty pack I got an Ariel baby towel thing, some nappy rash cream, a few catalogues, a sample of pregnacare and a few other little bits.
The Emma's diary ones are definitely better! You can create an account online then print off a voucher. Those ones you get from either boots or Argos. I went into a tiny boots and they said the smaller ones are usually more likely to have stock left of these. They have just been updated as well and now have a whole pack of Johnson's baby products in, including a big pack of baby wipes!! Was really impressed with mine.
Also with the bounty packs and Emma's diary packs you get more packs further on. The next Emma's diary one you are supposed to go and get towards the end of your pregnancy. I am looking forward to that one and hope it will have more nappy cream etc in it!!
Ooh also whilst I'm on freebies, if you join the boots baby club, you get a voucher for a free changing bag worth £30 when you buy a pack of nappies!!
Just yesterday as well I got a welcome pack for joining the fisher price baby club and you get a free baby rattle
I'm all about the freebies, me!!!! I'm going to be the tightest mum ever lol!Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

Oh man I didn't get any cereal in mine!! No fair!!
The bounty one I didn't think too much of to be honest, apart from the pregnacare sample and the baby towel everything else was a bit useless. Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
