    Morning all,
Well it appears my little one has not yet adjusted to the clock change and we are still waking at 6.00am.
This is not good when feeling sick :-(. Have been trying natural products but with a heavy heart as this did sweet fa last time. Have an appt on Friday with the doctor to see about anti-emetics as it is better to be proactive with them as opposed to reactive. Should also find out the process of making appt with midwife as we are under a new surgery so not sure how it works.
Getting lots of stretching going on, guess my cervix is all over the place since junior.
Also we have decided not to tell anyone in real life which is a pain as my friend still has all my pregnancy books which would have been handy.

    Hi to all the newbies.
Mrs TM all sounds positive :-)
My OH only came to scans and consultant appts as I had lots.
    tata for now x

Definitely going to need to make some anti-nausea ice lollies shortly. Need to get the ingredients first though. Nausea is definitely getting worse! Had to get up early and am now forcing myself to eat something to try and calm it down. I really hope I won't need the tablets.

For anyone interested, here is the anti-nausea ice lollies recipe (and they'd probably be good at any time honestly): http://sabrinaalery.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/diy-nausea-pops.html - the measurements are US, but 1 cup = 8 fluid oz if anyone needs it.

  • I feel for all of you ladies with sickness - I have only been sick once and that was bad enough! My symptoms seem to have abated now my scan is rapidly approaching! But Im trying to be logical and I suppose the further along you go, you get used to the symptoms and they do seem less present from memory.
One symptom that definitely is not getting less is the size of my stomach!
PS - Samtoby - if you are lurking, hope you are doing ok xx

My mom was never sick nor nauseous with me, and I was hoping that I'd be the same. Obviously not! I hate feeling sick, and it's even worse when I have to force myself to eat. I've lost two more kg already. The one time in my life when I'm not trying to lose weight, and I'm losing.

  • Mrs TM I tried the icepops last time, aswell as ginger in every form, seabands, peppermint etc and nothing worked. The tablets really were the only thing that helped and even then I was still being sick but not as much. Before the tablets I was so ill and had lost 10kg I ended up in hospital on iv as I was in stage 5 ketosis. I am the last person to take medicine and rarely go to the doctors but I need to tackle it head on especially with an 18month old at home. :)

I am worried that he will be a bit bored, but he is very excited by the whole thing and doesn't want to miss out on anything. Think I will warn him he will be bored but let him come anyway if he wants to!

He will most likely be bored as it's an hour of box ticking nothing really happens. They ask a couple of things about if you know if his family has any diseases etc that's the only thing relevant to him. Then he'll have to leave the room so they can ask you about domestic violence.

I guess he could possibly be excited watching a midwife stick a stick in your urine & weigh you?! :rotfl:

16 week appt lasts for about 10 mins & is just blood pressure & urine again, although lots of places listen to the heart beat then so I guess he could come for that although we'd heard it as the private scan so I didn't even consider DH coming, plus my appts are normally when he's at work.

The most important thing is for the scans!

Right now a huge bit of ginger in a berry smoothie (with coconut water as well), and peppermint gum (not at the same time!) are my saviours. I'm only 6+3, and like I told DH this morning, if it's supposed to get worse, I'm in trouble!

Sounds like me with my first - he's now 8, so it's easier to deal with than a toddler! He's got (a tiny bit) more sense than an 18 month old, anyway.

All the ginger / seabands etc did nothing for me, I needed the drugs to keep me off a drip - metachlpromide, I think one of them was? But I could have remembered that wrongly.

The only thing that helped slightly was sucking lemon sherberts.

    Hi everyone

    May I please join in??

I have been a general lurker on this site for a while but rarely post (mainly because someone gets in there with my thoughts before I do...How does that happen?)

Anyway i have been lurking on this particular thread since finding out we were pregnant at 4 weeks (now 9+4) and have decided it's time to join in if you'll have me!

Mainly I wanted to ask those ladies who are around the same weekage as me if your symptoms have gone?
I had been very sick until a couple of days ago when it just vanished which i find very strange. Last time i was pregnant i was sick until 16 weeks so it seems early to me and now i'm getting worried!

Anyway i will stop rabbiting! hello to everyone and hugs to those in need.

    Cllola xxxx :D

Welcome Cllola! I am 11+2 and my symptoms are pretty much gone, apart from the tiredness. When I was 9 weeks I had my booking in appointment and asked the midwife about my disappearing symptoms and she said it was normal. I wouldn't worry about the differences between your first pregnancy and this one as no two pregnancies are the same. For example my mum was extremely sick with me to the point of going on drips but with my sister she didn't have a single symptom. I hope that helps. If you do start to feel really anxious maybe consider talking to your midwife to see what she says xxx
