I am worried that he will be a bit bored, but he is very excited by the whole thing and doesn't want to miss out on anything. Think I will warn him he will be bored but let him come anyway if he wants to!

Its lovely that he wants to be there with you. :)

Fair enough - just don't put up with any whinging if he gets fed up (-:

I've got my 12 week scan on Friday, and OH's marked the morning out in his diary for that. In the afternoon, I'm taking our 8 year old to Kent for the weekend, to visit my parents, so they can have grandparent-grandson bonding time, and I can spend the weekend doing absolutely sod all (-:

My DH came with me to my booking in appointment and I was pleased that he did. There was so much information given out that I was thankful he was there to take any information in that I missed. Plus he is so excited for us to be pregnant that wild horses couldn't have kept him away :) It also meant that when I booked my 16 week appointment he was there so he could check his work diary to make sure he had no meetings and could come xxx

Bf is coming to all of our appointments, he is so excited its awesome and it's really nice to have him there so we both understand things etc. Plus he gets all cute and gooey over the heartbeat/pictures/anything!
It was also ideal as he knew so much more about his family history and his own health than I could have ever answered. I also wanted him there as support and so there was an extra brain remembering things.

He's even ordered a Doppler now so we can have a go at finding the heartbeat ourselves after our next scan! Hopefully it arrives soon since it's coming from Hong Kong :P

oh, my boyfriend was going to come to the booking appointment with me, should I tell him not to bother? he's quite excited so I doubt he'd listen to me anyway :)

not that iv even got one yet! I'm 6+3 today, going to the doctors for the first time tomorrow, what will they do then, make me the booking appointment? or is it the scan first?

firey, it's the booking appointment at about 8 weeks, then I think you make the scan date at the booking appointment. That's how it is here anyway. :)

My back aches! I've had problems with my shoulder before, but this is just below my shoulder blades (not low enough for it to be kidneys). I'm probably just trying to do too much too soon after this weekend in all honesty. I have a second load of laundry in the washer, have emptied one rubbish bin (light stuff), emptied 2 jars and a bowl of spoilt pasta sauce (:(), and I've swept the kitchen. I've been taking breaks every 10 minutes to rest and keep my back from hurting too badly though. I want to get at least some of our dirty dishes washed, it's bothering me at how many are piled up on the counter at the moment! I did think to put some pinto's into the slow cooker this morning, so dinner is pretty much done. Wonderful thing, a big bowl of pinto beans with ketchup! I might even make some cornbread... YUM! Oh, are my North Carolina roots showing? :rotfl:

I really need to wash my hair today, but I'm a bit scared of getting into the shower. Might try to hang my head over the side to wash it. I wish that my body would go ahead and let me have the wonderful 'pregnancy hair' that I've heard about instead of it remaining a horrid itchy mess. I've tried nearly every product available, plus a few prescriptions for it, and nothing has worked!

Oh, the gp also said that I have a possible case of thrush. I've never had it before, so I'm sitting here looking at the medicine going "that's supposed to go WHERE?!"

I definitely have nausea now. GP said that it was a good thing, but that if it got too bad to come in for something for it. I was finally able to eat some homemade fajita stuff last night. Very small bowl, and no heat to it (homemade seasoning), but very good for my first food for a few days that was solid and not toast!

I was having an itchy scalp too, I got some boots own brand stuff and its worked a treat! I'll find the bottle and get the actual name for you x

I'm wondering if it's the sulfates that I'm allergic to. Nothing medicated seems to be helping, and no 'normal' shampoo helps either. Once I use up all of the stuff I have, I'm thinking about getting a set of the Naked Dandruff shampoo and conditioner.

Very few people actually have dandruff - which is a sort of nasty skin infection, with great yellow flakes of skin. All the Head and SHoulders type stuff is just marketed at people with a few flakes of itchy skin, rather than actual dandruff.

I'd go for something gentle and calming, like the Boots itchy head shampoo, which is low-key but works to calm scalps down quite well.

Edited to say - this is the actual one I use occasionally on me, and my son, because we both have dry-ish skin and scalps:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just delurking to say that DH has been to every single appt with me & never been bored. He always asks 101 questions I haven't thought of. I have got a few complications so I guess there is more to discuss but it's nice to have someone there as it can be v overwhelming! Sure it'd be fine on your own too though x
