Just delurking (am slightly stalking samtoby from the m/c thread) to say that I'm really pleased your midwife appointment went well.
Congratulations also to everyone with happy scan news, and to new BFPs.
Hope those feeling sick will get through it and start to improve soon - remember that Seabands help some people.
Hope you don't mind my dropping in!

Just popping through to check up with everyone's progress, waiting to see you all on the 12-24week thread!
Samtoby - I'm glad they've signed you off, make sure you take advantage of it and rest up!mysecretalias wrote: »I've only been off menopausal injections for two months so my boyfriend and I must make a super fertile match!
We weren't sure if we could/how long it might take to conceive so when I came off the pill I was prepared to not build myself up without a few natural cycles passing us by (I was tri-cycling due to issues with period cramps etc). The doctor I had a fe years ago basically gave me three options to help with my dibilatating pain: 1) tri-cycle permanently, 2) have a baby asap in the hope that then meant everything calmed down, 3) have a hysterectomy at the age of 21!
Bf is also disabled (CP) and we had no idea of any effect anything may/may not have had (plus his middle brother and his partner took a while the first time to conceive so you never know!) but a little under 6 weeks later we were in shock at a bfp on a Clearblue!
To top it off bf had spent most of those 6 weeks away so we probably only did the deed 3/4times!
Hopefully your appointments help calm your nerves and you can get excited
Anyway I shall re-lurk. Good wishes to all, especially the new people!

Sigh. I had my doctor appointment two weeks ago to be referred to the midwife. I've been waiting ever since to hear from the midwife for my first appointment. I rang the surgery yesterday to check I'd definitely been referred and I have. The receptionist gave me the number for the local health centre where the midwives are actually based so I could ring there and I've rung three times so far today and still not actually spoken to a midwife! The receptionist puts me through and it just rings and rings! Not even an answering machine to leave a message. I think I'm around 9 weeks so need my scan appointment soon!0

Hey ladies.
All was fine at my scan today. Baby 12+4 so due date is 14.04.14. Heading to 12-24 now and hope to see all of you there soon. XTTC #3..........0 -
Phoenix, if it's anything like my midwife's main number, they're only there from 9-10am, mon-fri, so maybe try then? It's perfectly normal to not see your midwife til at least 8 weeks, but I'd be getting antsy if I was you, too

Yeah I know BZ, I'm sure that first time around they rang me a few days after the doctor referred me though! And I'm sure I had my scan date by now too! I'm not worried about not having an appointment, I just want to make sure I get my scan in the right window for the nuchal measurement thingy, I think if you're over 13 weeks they can't measure it. Plus I had an awesome idea for announcing my pregnancy to people on Halloween, and I want to have had my scan before that so I'm running out of time0

Hello :hello:
I have finally made it over here from the >12 months thread, so very excited to be here. I've been lurking for a week or so
We got our BFP last week after lots of private treatment, and are looking at a due date of the 4th June, I am 5+2 just now and have a scan on the 21st October at the hospital where I had the IVF. I am seeing my GP on Monday for referral into the ante natal system. It all still seems a bit surreal, but it is slowly sinking in. According to a midwife friend the tiredness, nausea and discomfort are all good signs!
So, that's me in a nutshell. Hope everyone is having a good Friday0 -
We have more new faces! Hello and welcome
I've managed to hide the pregnancy for just over 4 weeks now and managed to lose anothernsix pounds, so I've lost a stone in total now! Really hoping to get another stone off before the birth to be healthier for the baby. Today is the day I get the decision as to whether the firm will pay for my post grad course so crossing everything for a yes!0 -
Hello Mrs Happy - I have 'followed' your story and am really pleased for you!
I went to see the MW yesterday evening at local hospital - slight cringe moment. I walked in (there was a group of them) and she says "oh I know you - how do I know you - and starts going on" - me " I miscarried 6 months ago after seeing you". She just kept apologising...and threw some Vit D tablets at me ?!
Saw the trainee midwife for booking in, she was lovely and kept deferring to me and calling me an 'old hand' (!) was there for ages.
So - yesterday I felt nauseaus in waves throughout the day and have been ill this morning.... Am sure now that hunger is a trigger for me.
Well done on weightloss Marylooyeah.
Sam Toby - glad your apt went went too x
Congrats twigpig x0
