    Morning girls,

Just slept for 12 hours so that is pretty impressive for me. I have had some breakfast and I am chilling on the sofa.

mysecretalias - How did the Dr's go? If you want a scan and the Dr or Midwife can not send you for an early one (earlier than 12 weeks) then there are a lot of private clinics - google where you live and you may find somewhere.

twigpig - Not too long now! I can understand why you didn't tell your parents until your scan. :)

goppers- I am on constant knicker watch. I have had a few cramp type pains here and there. I know what you mean by reaching milestones. I have now reached 7 weeks so I just need to get to 8, 9 (that is the important week to me) 11 and 12. I am going to be a nervous wreck at the 12 week scan.

Faith2009uk - what a beautiful scan picture. Congrats on your graduation!

Debs0778- One day to go to scan day! Eeeekkkkk!

Vickyvics - How are you getting on?

Sophiasmum- Anymore woozy moments of feeling a little icky?

In the norh east, they can and will send you from 6 weeks. My SIL had a few very early due to bleeding, and I know other people who've had them on the nhs..... I know it does however vary area to area..... :)

Hi Sam toby - Im feeling absolutely fine today :) My sister put the pregnancy sickness in good terms to me - she said its like with hangovers! Some people suffer and some people dont! I can live with that... though constantly knicker checking! (jealous of your 12 hour sleep!)
    Goppers - I m having what I call 'twinges'....dont like it!! x

  • Hi all! Congrats faith can't believe how much like a baby it looks after only 12 weeks!! (Though I am new to all of this so everything seems amazing to me at the moment!)

Thanks all that asked about my docs appointment - I went last night as you know and the doctor was really good, she did a good job of calming me down which was nice. I had to choose there and then which hospital I went to which was a bit daunting as I didn't have my boyfriend there with me, we are smack bang in the middle of two, mayday and east surrey so I chose mayday but I think I already regret that decision. I explained my worries and the fact I didn't even know how far along I was and she has referred me urgently for a scan and also referred me to the midwife.

She said it could take a week or so which seems like a blooming lifetime but I am just trying to remain calm at the moment, be healthy and take each day as it comes.

We did tell my boyfriends parents last night, they were shocked the same as us but they were really happy for us. It was nice to tell someone and get it off of our chests. We would ordinarily have waited to tell them but we live with them at the moment whilst saving for a mortgage so I don't think we would have been able to hide it for long.

Really sick as a dog today! Bleurgh!! Hope everyone is well and a lot more calm than me!

Glad your apt went well Mysectalias - you can still change your mind re hospital.
Marywooyeah - luckily My MW is on duty in the birth centre in local hospital Fri evening, so Im going to see her there rather than the clinic (Monday morning) - well that's as long as shes not needed by somebody in labour!

Hope all goes well Chelseablue xx Thinking of you.

    Good morning ladies,

Mysecretalias I'm really glad the doctor's appointment went well and that she was able to calm you down. I'm really sorry that you are feeling so poorly. When I found out I was pregnant I felt like I needed to tell my parents just to keep me grounded.

Faith2009 Congratulations on your lovely scan pic. I actually can't wait to get a scan date. I just hope there isn't a massive wait between my midwife appointment and scan date. I look forward to seeing you again on the next thread. Congrats on graduating.

Debs0778 Good luck for your scan today. Hope you get a good view of your jellybean!

Samtoby Ahhhh 12 hours of bliss. I'm loving sleep right now and no matter how long I sleep for it never seems to be enough. Even now I could go right back to sleep.

AFM, I'm sat wait for an electrician. We had some damp proofing work started yesterday and when taking plaster off the wall they cut though the cable for the lights!!! Why are things never simple? They actually said to me 'isn't it funny how one wall light is connected but the other one isn't???' In my head I was screaming (think it was an emotional pregnant moment) but all I said very calmly was 'they were both connected this morning!'

Then to top it off I came down to check how they were getting on to find that (considering the damp problem was on the chimney breast) they had only done either side on the alcove!!! Let commence an argument about why I would have them just do the alcoves and completely ignore the actual damp problem!! It's safe to say that the emotional pregnant lady won!

Sorry for the rant but was just so irritated. Told DH and he thought the image of a tiny 4ft11 woman standing up to 2 burly builder types was hilarious!

Symptom wise the sickness seems to be slowly lightening up, which is making me panic. Does this mean there is something wrong? Still constantly drained though.

Hope everyone is having a happy Thursday xxx
  • Thanks sophiasmum reassuring to know I can still change my mind - going to wait until after I get my scan though as I don't want anything to slow that down at all! Funny thing is I was born in Mayday and turned out ok (I think!!) but I have heard horror stories so I think I will change!

Funny all your stories about the morning sickness, this morning I was awful I was halfway through a sentence to my boyfriend's mum when I had to run to the bathroom and throw up, whilst my boyfriend was in there having a shower! Bless him though he lent over and rubbed my back for me!

Currently sitting at work sipping lemon and ginger tea with honey in. I absolutely hate the taste of ginger but I found the honey takes the edge off and it is actually helping with the sickness.

I keep getting a few little pains (I think it might be what you call twinges but not sure). It's difficult to tell because I have Endometriosis so I am used to pain all the time so it's bit annoying now having to reassure myself that everything is ok when I get little pains, even though I don't really know everything is ok!

Boyfriend is acting crazy still, doing little happy dances here and there and getting carried away with planning. I keep telling him not to get excited until we know everything is ok but it's like talking to a child! Oh well I should probably get used to it lol!

    Hope everyone is well xxx
