  • I called my doctors and was told they don't even bother testing/having an appointment as 'home tests are as accurate as any' and told to call back through to reception and get details of the midwife!

Saw the midwife at 6+6, was supposed to be 8 but I was going away and then couldn't do afternoons at the time. She reffered me for a scan and gave me a number to call the following Tuesday to book it...called only to be told they had already booked me in and a letter was in the post - had to change it anyway (twice!) and then got three letters all with the same date on (one set after second change) so they had obviously never sent the first one out!

Have been told that after the scan today I need to use the dates the hospital give me to work out when I'll be 16 weeks then call the surgery and make an appointment for that week (but it will have to be the Wednesday or Friday as that's when midwives replacing mine do clinics)!

Can not focus at all today at work between excitement for my scan later and my sore jaw.

bigzippy - can't believe you're already 24w - so thrilled that everything is going well for you......xx

lushlifesaver - enjoy your scan and the chance to look at your little baby - you don't get too many chances to see them bouncing around! Good luck for today....... I've not told my boss yet and she's be on leave on our scan date so I'll be telling her about 10 days later :rotfl:

debs - my scan is 2 weeks on Fri, it really does seem like ages away but then it seems like only yesterday I saw that bfp! :)

mancbird :wave. welcome - I know your id and think that we spent some time on the boards before - my son is almost 20 months. Congrats on your bfp :)

chelseablue - I'm 10w and don't feel any different :rotfl:

icey - woop woop for the scan date ;)

vickyvics - what a good idea for the dog! Hope he'll adapt to the new family. I'm sure he will :) Hope the dentist goes ok for you. eek!

samtoby - hope that you've woken up now :p

sexki11en - glad your scan went well - it does make you relax a little bit knowing so far, so good :)

con1888 - hope you're ok after your scan - it's a lot to take in and understandable to feel a sense of loss. Glad that you have happy news and a beautiful healthy baby though........

becs - HUGE welcome! :D and totally normal that you're prtty much left to your own devices for a few weeks before appointments and stuff start kicking in..... nothing to worry about :)

  • Hi All

I would love to join this thread!

    I am 7 weeks pregnant today :j

Had no symptoms until 6+5 and that's when the severe back ache started, and the gagging at every smell (although not actually being sick) and feeling tired most of the time!

It will all be worth it in the end ;)

Thanks Claire - actually went to the drs a few days ago for antibiotics for cystitis - obv didn't know then! How far along are you now?

Chelseablue - it'll be great to have someone at the same stage! It's all super exciting but really scary at the moment.

I'm 13 weeks. Just popped back on here to say congrats to you! :)
  • Becsxxx Welcome to the board and congratulations on your BFP:T. Mt first midwife appointment is at 9 weeks as well. I did try to ring up to get an earlier one but they wouldn't let me. I assume my first scan will be booked on the day as well...I hope.

Lushlifesaver I hate the dentist. As its just a matter of putting the crown on this time I'm hoping that there will be no need for needles or anything. I just want a quick in then out jobbie. I doubt it will be that simple though. It never is:rotfl:.

Chelseablue I'm 5+3 and I haven't yet had any symptoms either apart from back ache and even then its mostly when I've been lying in bed or sitting on terrible chairs.

Twigpig It's good to know that we're not the only ones without symptoms. Sometimes it can be a worry that without the symptoms as proof I have imagined it all.

eek well we've been and made it back!

We have a beautiful bouncing (literally!!) baby! Just the one, not twins like everyone else was saying, looooong legs and a strong heart :-) so relieved and can now let myself relax and truly enjoy it :-)

Will tell the boss tomorrow morning and get it out of the way nice and early in the day I think.

We got four pictures (set of 2 for £5 and we got two sets) so will take a set in to show him and pray it all goes well!!

Once I work out how to upload pics off my phone I will :-)

  • Congratulations on the scans girls, making me more excited now! I'm sorry about the twin con, its easy to say 'At least you have one healthy one still' but it's still sad. Your photo did make me smile and actually say out loud 'OMG its a baby!' (Umm yeah I've had a LONG day!) :rotfl:

Hope telling your boss goes okay tomorrow Lush

Welcome Becs! So pleased to see you on this thread :)

I can't stand the dentist either Vickyvics - and now its free due to the pregnancy I really have no reason to ever put it off.

I had a scan at 6 wks 2 days Sexki11en due to some early worries, and was amazed seeing the heartbeat. I still feel lucky having seen that, I can't wait till the scan so I can see how much its changed and my OH actually gets to see it. Is it bad that I actually got a slight kick out of knowing I was the first to see the baby and on my own?!

Well AFM I have booked my flu jab on request of the dr and still waiting to hear back from MW. Can't see it happening much before the scan though!
  • Hello everyone, hope you're all ok?

Twigpig, I recognise your username too. Do I also know you elsewhere? :)

Tablets seem to be helping with the sickness as I've not been sick at all today, although I have felt sick. Got a phone call from the doctors today. Apparently my booking in bloods aren't quite normal so I have an appointment tomorrow. Bit nervous about it, but figure it can't be anything serious or they'd have made me go right in today?!? I'm guessing it is something like my iron levels or thyroid levels. Suppose I'll find out tomorrow!
