I told my "employer" as soon as I did the test, only fair really seeing as he's my DH ... a SAHM has many reporting lines ;)

  • Hello, room for another?

Recognise a few names here, hello Icey :)

I had an early scan yesterday and am about 8+3 weeks pregnant, which gives me an edd of April 25th. I had a mmc in January so was very, very nervous about my scan but all was well and we saw my little jelly baby's heart beating :D

Symptoms wise, I am suffering with hyperemesis (again, also had this with my son and my pregnancy I miscarried, although not as bad for preg number 2) and am as sick as a dog. Ended up in hospital at the weekend to go on a drip and am feeling a lot better now I have fluids in me and I'm on new medication :)

I already have one son who is almost two (where has that time gone?!?) and I'm a mostly sahm but am setting up my own business although this is on the back burner at the moment.

Hope everyone is having a good day x

  • Good morning ladies,

Back pain feels much better today, although was permanently attached to a got water bottle last night and then again at 5 this morning when I woke up and found my back hurting again. I wonder if my bed is a problem? Its a soft memory foam mattress.

I haven't had any morning sickness yet, just nausea when Im hungry or smell something I don't like. This morning came into the kitchen to realise the roasting tin hadn't been washed from yesterday and my stomach turned somersaults...bleugh! There's part of my that wants the morning sickness because it seems like something so normal and then the part of me that hates being sick is really glad I haven't had it yet. Then again...I am only 5+2!

Had a dog behaviourist round this morning to look at my dog to help us prepare for the baby. He tends to be overprotective of me and I want to make sure he is just as prepared for the baby coming as we are. He can also be aggressive to other dogs (especially other males) so we are hoping to nip that in the bud. He was really useful and it turns out its quite simple to get him used to the idea of there being a baby. We just need to get a doll that makes all of the noises of being a baby and go though the motions of changing it, burping it, and teaching him to not come near until we tell him to. Seems so simple!!:T Its also good practice :rotfl:.

Lushlifesaver Good luck for the scan tomorrow. I will be thinking of you. I haven't told my employer yet. I think I want to wait until after the scan and when I reach the 12 week mark.

Faith2009uk congratulations on getting to 11 weeks. I cannot wait to be in double digits. I'm hoping that once I get past these first 12 weeks Ill feel better about the pregnancy. At the moment I daren't get my hope up too much in case something happens.

Becca0417 I hope mine goes away soon. Although as its the only symptom I have at the moment its kind of reassuring to have it at the same time.

Marywooyeah My boobs feel like they are growing as well. I'm dreading it though because they are already not the small dainty things of my dreams. I think I might be likely to fall over with the weight of the bump combined with the weight of my boobs :rotfl:

Hope every one is having a happy Tuesday xxx
  • Chelseablue and Debs0778 with you both saying you're PAs all I can imagine is if you were PA's to our rugby players haha but I'm presuming it's possibly more administrative than care work??

My line manager has said just to go to the boss and say '[name] I have something I need to speak to you about, can I grab a minute with you?' and then he'll possibly guess haha not so sure though! seriously worried about my job and he just gave me a little pay bump yesterday :/

  • Hee Hee, I'm a civil servant so definitely not PA to any rugby players :rotfl:

Chelseablue, I'm no expert as this still doesnt seem real to me and I'm 11 weeks on Friday but I have pretty much no symptoms either, or nothing I'd have noticed if I didnt no I was PG if you get what I mean.
  • Working with rugby players? Now theres a thought! A very nice thought! :o

Apprently where I live you have to ring up the hospital when your 6 weeks and arrange your own scan. Anyone else have to do this?

Morning oh no its afternoon - I can not tell day and night I need to sleepppppp zzzzzzzzzz. I no way felt this tired last time!!

Welcome to the newbies - Chelseablue - had a feeling by what you were saying you were going to get a BFP! Congrats.

Mancbird - I am back after a mmc found out at my 12 week scan on the 30th of July this year, lost the baby at 9+3 or plus 5 ish. I had an operation and boom without one AF I am back. It still isn't real at all. But I feel it if that makes sence. Congrats on having a scan and all looking good. So scared but trying to remain positive.

Debs - can't believe you are 11 weeks on Friday only feels like a few moments ago you were on the 'Trying for a baby thread'.

Lushlifesaver - good luck for tomorrow. :) Hope today flies for you.

Vickyvics - nice our due dates might be very close indeed. I think I am 5+2 today but it is only a guess and I am probably earlier but only a scan would confirm that.

Marywooyeah - your EDD might be the same as Vickyvics as well! Hope you don't fall over with the weight of the ladies!

Hugs to everyone else I have missed.

AFM - I could sleep for a week. I am so tired - I had this last time but no way as bad. I can't concerntrate at work! I work in Housing and its all go go go with my case load and I just want to sleep sleep sleep - never thought I would consider a nap in my lunch break!
I don't feel sick but I am gagging on my toothbrush when I try and brush my back teeth - again this happened last time. I did feel sick but this was not until after 6+ weeks.

To all those having scans hope all is perfect with your little beans.

And to those suffering I hope the sickness stops soon or back pain. All these little things you do not realise you might have. I am having problems with going to the toilet but I will take any symtom that is thrown at me as long as I get to the scan room to be delivered good news at 12 weeks this time :)
