  • I've started bleeding :(:(:(

It's light, like the start of a period. I'm trying to keep calm and positive but I'm devastated. If things are going wrong it will be the third time in a row. Why is it night time so I can't phone the midwife???

PLMBL - I'm so sorry to hear you're bleeding, I hope you aren't alone right now. You probably know more than me so ignore me if I'm wrong. However how much are you bleeding as half of all people who have a bleed in pregnancy are fine? Are there clots and do you have any pain, as if you're not it's a good sign. I don't suppose you dtd tonight as that can cause cervical erosion due to the hormone changes? At over 11 weeks you're chances are very good, have you had an early scan at all that's confirmed a heartbeat (I'm afraid j can't remember off the top of my head)?

I'll have my fingers crossed for you. X

  • Thank you so much Kynthia. I managed to go to sleep last night and when I woke at 5am there was just a (TMI) discoloured discharge. I got up then and there has since been nothing. During the bleeding last night there was just the one tiny clot but that's all. I've had no cramps, just an upset stomach but that's probably through worry.

We did dtd the day before, but not yesterday, however yesterday I walked for miles at a National Trust place so I may have over done it.

I'm going to call the midwife this morning and see if she can refer me to EPU. I haven't had a scan yet this pregnancy and I really need to see what's gping on. I lost the last one at 8+5 but the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks, and the thought that I might have actually lost this one a couple of weeks ago is weighing heavily.

Can't believe this time yesterday I was relieved to be at 12 weeks and now I'm worried it's all over. Xx

PLMBL I hope all's ok. If you're 12 weeks, do you not have your normal scan due very soon? If not, I would definitely go to the EPU. Given your history it's only natural that you'd be worried.

PLMBL - huge hugs. I really hope everything is okay. Hopefully some midwives will be about soon and can arrange a scan for you ASAP xxx

Claire - could you not get an early scan on the NHS cos of your history? They gave me one at 8 weeks.

Totally, totally agree. No harm in trying. In the folder I was given by my midwife (the one I've been told to take to all appointments, so I'm thinking maybe everyone gets one.) My midwife told me that there is also listed the phone numbers of other midwives in area so if she's not contactable then to try another midwife. Maybe you've got the same sort of info?
