Gosh I'm feeling very lucky up here in North Yorkshire, I've not had to wait for appointments at all! :)

Kynthia, that really is terrible that they don't want to make an appointment with the midwife until after your scan. At my booking in I had to choose *where* I was going for my scan! You also sign the paperwork to get your free prescriptions card so they're just making you hang around for things that you could do with having sooner rather than later! Not to mention the support you feel like you need at that point when it doesn't feel like anything's happening! Well done for the angry Googling though, I'd have done the same! :)

Becca - I've had 4 Pringles for lunch so far :o maybe I'll go and see what else I can find a bit healthier!

ETA - now eating a pear and having some apple juice but feel full already. Just eating for the sake of having something.

MW must have heard my ranting...... Just had a call, she sounds lovely. Shes coming to so a home visit for my first appointment. It's on Monday 5th, so not too long to wait. I asked about hubby being there, she said opptional. So ive booked it when he's got a day off.
Only problem is its between 12 - 2pm. Hmmm, now whether to tell my boss why or get creative as to why I need to work from home that day! Really didnt want to tell ger his early. Although I do know she'd be pretty good about it. (as well as panicking about how she'll cover me through maternity leave!)

Sorry becca cant help you on that one. Ive still got my normal appetite.

Although I don't always feel like it I generally have a ham sandwich, banana, satsuma/apple, a yoghurt and either some boots crisps or maybe a fondant fancy. If I'm not at work I might have beans or scrambled egg on toast. I usually feel better for eating. Breakfast varies between muesli, porridge or a fruit scone with butter. Guess which I enjoy the most? :)

I'm sat at home having a day off and wondering whether I should be more productive and go shopping at Ashford outlet or do some ironing and then relax.

I had a packet of crisps for my lunch yesterday becca :o Today I've got a prawn rice salad which I have to eat. I'd suggest you nibble on crackers if you don't fancy anything.

My first pregnancy I think I ate nothing but tuck biscuits for two months!

Had booking in appt with mw this morning. She was so lovely! Only thing is it was her last day at the clinic so I won't see her again! I did meet the midwife who was taking over and she seemed nice too so a bit more relaxed! The one I saw today is actually moving onto the labour ward so you never know I might see her again in less dignified circumstances!!! :rotfl:

Didn't get any lecture about my BMI at all, she was actually very supportive and could see that I was healthy in general. She said despite my BMI being over 30 I am a very low risk patient - I will have to have a GTT but don't need it any earlier than usual, just at 28 weeks or whenever it's supposed to be.

Only negative thing was that she couldn't find my veins to take my bloods and was poking around in my arms for what seemed like ages!! I'm not really good with blood tests at the best of times so this didn't help!! In the end I had to be sent off to the phlebotomist at the hospital to take over!! All done in about 30 secs there!

Asked whether I wanted the downs screening test but I don't have to decide until the day of the 12 week scan? Well probably go for it but glad we have more time to think. Has anyone else made the decision yet?

It's strange how it works so differently in different parts of the country. I had a GP appt to let my Dr know about the pregnancy on Tues. The GP filled out an online form and the maternity prescription exemption form.

I'm now waiting to get a letter through the post to give me the dates for my booking in appt and my first scan.

Sjlou - interesting that you have the midwife coming to you.

strange isn't it (where about's are you? Im in the midlands) Feels a bit like they're coming to check up to make sure that I don't live in a hovel covered with hypodermic needles and other inappropriateness!
I also only went tuesday to inform my doctor. She filled in a form (old style on paper, not online :p that I believe got passed to the MW team), but didn't do a prescription exemption form. Must remember to ask MW about that.

I just don't want to eat anything. Today I've had cereal (felt ok when I woke up), a chocolate biscuit and a few crackers. I'm supposed to be meeting my mum for coffee soon but I really don't feel like it. Might try some fruit at least it's good for baby :)

Squirrel glad your appt went well. We are having the Downs Syndrome screening test :)
