Birdie, I've had the same lecture on food. A work friend told me off for eating something with nuts on. She wouldn't believe me that I could eat them and kept tutting at me.

Since telling everyone last night I've had a few ask me "Was it planned?" His sis even asked "Was it planned or were you trying to see happened?" Seriously, why do people ask that? I need some good comebacks if anyone has any? It's not exactly a shock, I'm 28, married, we've been together years and have good jobs etc. Stupid people!

Pffft, firstly, you enjoy your nutty treats! :)

Also, a random woman at work today asked me if my baby was planned! Who thinks that's an appropriate question to ask?! Who would say 'Ooooh no, my pill failed and I'm really annoyed!' :p I said 'Yes and we were trying before George was a twinkle in William's eye!', that shut her up! :rotfl:

    Nice come back Birdie85!

I've been feeling much better today - not ginger nuts or ginger ale needed through the morning and I wolfed down my lunch...although I did have it later than usual.

Going to read my screening tests leaflet whilst I wait for bf to get home from camp, the mw wants me to know it chapter and verse as I need to decide if I want any tests early on(?!)

Have now been told to start thinking about my birth plan as well - was anyone else asked that this early on?

I thought it was a bit much! She spoke to me like I was stupid as well, I know that breast feeding is recommended and all the reasons why, I don't need a lecture!

They wouldn't let me book my booking in appt until 8 weeks either which I thought was a bit weird. Hope you can get an appt. How far are you now?

Hope you can relieve your stomach, mine's a bit better today - Weetabix and raisins are the way forward!

I wonder if they'll say the same to me actually as the midwife appts are so limited.

My BOSS at my old work asked me that when i told him before! Cringe worthy or what!! How rude!

I wasn't asked that before, I think it's a bit ridiculous to be honest how can you know that type of thing yet! It was enough for me being asked which hospital i wanted before!

Last time the only scan I had the choice of was nuchal which I declined. Everything else seemed to be compulsory, well at that early stage anyway.

I think I'm dreading my mw appt more than I was my scan... I have lost almost 2 stone which probably helped in me getting pg, but I still have a BMI over 30. Its frustrating to be so overweight - I don't actually look that big (I'm quite tall and a size 14-16) but my BMI means I'm obese, so I am expecting a HUGE lecture tomorrow.

I'm currently at Slimming World and have a form to take with me to the midwife tomorrow, so I'm hoping she'll allow me to carry on - I think its possible to do as I've heard about others doing it as long as you're eating healthily and not losing vast amounts of weight. I think it's more of a maintenance diet from now on rather than a weight loss one.

My boss in work is pg and loads of staff have been asking her really insensitive questions including the 'was it planned' gem, so I'm preparing myself with loads of great comebacks for when I finally get to announce mine in work too!!

    Hi Ladies

Lovely reading up on all your news, I am 9 weeks today and not seeing the mw for another 2 weeks. I think I might book myself a private scan as I really want to see my little bud now! I am so impatient.

Still knackered - want to have a little sleep after my lunch in work, two of my other colleagues guessed yesterday and they were so happy for me....they've been teasing me since I got married two years ago that I was next.....4 pregnant ladies later and I am next! all I want to do is sleep!! But I am happy I have the knackered symptom rather than the morning sickness....I just feel off sometimes but so far no sick!

DH has turned into a prince this week after our horrible weekend in London. we have 2 bedrooms and always said we will move into the spare room when baby comes along as the spare room is much colder than our bedroom. Came home from work yesterday to a sparkling clean house, a change of bed room and a list full of baby items 'watching' on ebay. Today I have come home to a lovely trimmed garden, dinner on the table and a lovely bunch of flowers......so who ever has abducted my husband....please keep him, I like this one!!!!!!!!
Proud mummy to an amazing 8 year old!

Been an ok day today but been worrying about the speed of my weight gain. I was wondering if I gain a stone each trimester is that normal - or should it be more or less - or is there no normal.

My partner thinks I have gained weight because my body needs it. 'You have no reserves baby', he said.

Super fast google search says 5lbs in first trimester.

I guess the rest happens after that!? Isn't it a couple of stone or something? Everyone is different though.

Birdie was it you who put up that photo a while ago that shows the weight gain?

Well I got a bit of surprise today when I opened up a re-directed mail to find out that I'd missed an early scan appointment on Tuesday. Phoned the hospital straight away and now have a scan on Monday. DH was slightly annoyed that I hadn't told him earlier.

It means that I have to tell work tomorrow now. :(

Fingers are now crossed for a good scan result Monday.

Why do you need to tell them if you don't want to? Can't you just say you have a hospital appt that can't be changed?
