Good luck for your scan today Faerie! :)

Hooray for long summer holidays for you lucky few! I'm not at all jealous! :p Still, less than 6 weeks until my holiday so I'm happy! Although just found out that the couple we're holidaying with are having 'marital difficulties' right now so it may be awkward... :(

Hope those with poorly tums are feeling better today, or will do so soon! Some symptoms are certainly a lot less fun than others! :o

Maybe_it's_because - I hope you feel better soon. I too want an early scan so that I can at least tell my parents. I feel bad keeping such big news from them and telling my boss and my best friend first. However telling family is a big deal because it means more to them and hurts them more if it goes wrong.

AFM im 7+5 tiday. I've started to get nausea now but it's more in the early evening. I'm finding the commute home harder than coming in and find rushing for tge train gives me pain. I've been slightly craving chicken nuggets which I find funny, but I've read chicken us high in a vitamin that is good for nausea so maybe my body knows best. :)

Just home from my scan and booking in, definately a baby in there. Was so focused on what if that I was taken aback by how amazing it was to see that heartbeat.
My dates were spot on, no change to the due date I'd be working to. :)

Supposed to be working from home today but super hyper so cant see it being a very productive day!

Fab that your scan went well Jennifer!

I'm feeling ridiculously emotional today. A woman broke her ankle on Helicopter Heroes and I was sitting blubbing.

A midwife called today cos she didn't realise my scan appt had already been sorted for Fri. She was emphasising that the scan will only tell if things are ok on that date and is no guarantee of things being ok going forward. I will be 8 + 2. Why are those who work in that field not raving about the brill chances if a hb is seen? Hmmm They seem so pessimistic that I don't know if I'll feel reassured at all :(

Glad your scan went well Jennifer :)

Went to the doctors this morning she reassured me although still not sure if we are allowed sex! She thinks the pain in my hip and leg is sciatica. Friend at work reckons you are get referred to physio for it but I guess I'll see how it goes.

DD finishes school today so I'm going to tell her tonight, she is so switched on for 9 anyway. She poked my belly the other day and said Mum you are either pregnant or you have been eating too much, which is it?? I said I didn't know to which she said well what you need to do at lunchtime is go and buy one of those tests and find out :D

Awww how cute and smart is your DD Magpie?! You should maybe do a test just show you can show it to her! :)

Hope you're feeling better Becca and the puppy has let you have some nice relax time! :)

I'm meeting my friend tonight so I'm going to try to get her to open up about what's going on with them without letting on that I know things aren't rosey since her OH told my OH in confidence! :o

  • Glad scan went well jenni_fer!

Magpie, my DS1 is almost 9 too. I told him I was pregnant a few weeks ago after he said he wanted me to go to the doctors because I kept being sick. He said " Mum I think you are either having a baby or dying and I want you to find out which"!!

AFM, I had my booking in appointment this morning. It was 45 mins of form filling and blood taking and not much else, but it was nice to get the ball rolling. I told her I was worried after the last miscarriage but she said my continuing symptoms and growing bump were good enough for her. A scan appointment will be sent by letter from the hospital shortly.

I then went to the supermarket and nearly threw up at the checkout :o

Good to hear your scan went well jenni_fer

I still haven't received a call back from the flipping community midwife! 3 days I've been trying to get hold of her, leaving her messages to call me back to schedule a booking in appointment and she's tried to call me just once and I was on the work phone at the time so missed it grr! Will keep trying until the end of the week and if I haven't been successful by then I will call the gp surgery on Monday and see if they have any dates after the 19th (only have up to the 16th at present).

Felt a bit ick today, a couple of days of that feeling like something is creeping up your throat and again today. Been nibbling on ginger nuts but today I went for ginger ale instead. Good thing I like the stuff nowadays!

So hard not to let slip to anyone else at work when I was asked to do a half marathon as they wanted a reason but then I realised I'm away that weekend so that was good cover ;)

Spied a few more products and found a new website that will really help us as bf is a wheelchair user so we need good, tough, long lasting baby equipment that he can use most if not all of too. And that will let him be as independent as possible.

So far we know we will have to invest in a Maxi Cosi Axiss once the baby is big enough. Have found a method for him to be able to use a standard rear-facing seat and found a suitable baby carrier (as he can't push himself and a pushchair!) they are the main things we were worried about since we first started talking about babies so it's a huge relief to know appropriate stuff is out there. I think I will start a blog about it all though as there's no few websites looking at that sort of thing - and even fewer when it's the dad that's disabled/a wheelchair user!

Forgot to get anything out of the freezer for my tea tonight so not quite sure what I will end up having yet but I will sort something I'm sure. And I have a couple of dozen cake pops to make tonight which will be fun!

Birdie my edd is 28th march.

Kynthia if anything went wrong would you not tell your mum anyway?

So far I've told my parents, sister and SIL, & a couple of close friends. Just as last time I ended up telling so many people oh sorry the reason I hadn't seen you for the past 3 months was that I was making up various excuses to cover morning sickness & then I had a mc! So they all found out anyway. Having said that were leaving telling DHs mum til a couple of weeks time as last time she told other people in his family when we told her not to but as we're seeing her in August she can't very well get on the phone infront of us, plus she felt very guilty last time & asked DH did I blame her for tempting fate so don't think she'd dare this time.

Faith hope maybe she's had women not realise that and complained in the past or something? I know what you mean though, it's funny how some are so 'oh it's fine bleeding is normal wont be anything' etc type people & others are more doom & gloom.

Jennifer's glad you had a good scan!

Lush life saver - I wonder if David Weir would have any tips!!
