lushlifesaver - It sounds like everyone is getting excited already! Your baby is going to spoilt rotten! I've only told work and our mum's. If all goes well tomorrow at the scan I want to tell the world!

I know - it's still just settling in for me. I'm excited but trying not to get too excited - I know it's pessimistic but you never know. I won't be telling anyone else until after 12weeks. I was happy for family to know as bf is away a lot (training camps and tournaments as he is a GB athlete) so I want everyone's support whenever he's away! I've said he can tell a couple of people from the team that I know and trust too :)

Just realised, I fly to Belgium in 2.5 weeks to watch a tournament, I'll have to tell the person I'm flying/room sharing with just in case the sickness kicks in on the flight (I've read it can be exaggerated during/after). I'll be 7+1 then so should have my first midwife appointment once I'm back!

Can't wait to hear/see the baby! Hope time doesn't pass too slowly in these early weeks!

  • Wow how exciting that your bf is a GB athlete lushlifesaver!

I've got my booking in appointment with the midwife in the morning! Looking forward to it as it will seem more real then. Having a bit of a weird day today as I'm 8+5 and that's the day I lost last time. Trying not to fixate on it but it keeps coming back to mind :(.

Lush - Which sport does your BF do? My BF (total kn0b!) at Uni was a GB athlete until he got injured.

Mazz and Magpie - great news that your scans went well :T

I've got my booking in appt on Thurs then on Friday pm I have a scan. Am feeling a bit worried about it but I would rather know if things aren't right. Trying to be positive. I'm thinking of the 98% chance of things being ok if I do see a heartbeat. Thing is DH has an unbelievable mountain of work to do before he finishes for hols on Friday so I'd said I'd go myself. He would come if I wanted but I don't want him stressed out even more than he is. Then I'm thinking I might not be quite 8 wks. Officially I am 8 weeks tomorrow but I know I ov'd later than day 14, prob on day 16 /17.

Hugs PLMBL - I know how you feel. I just want it to be 12 weeks or better still 40 weeks.

Isn't it funny how they tell us different things? The only thing I've been "allowed" (and prescribed) to take is piriton tablets, I asked for eye drops etc but apparently they all have warnings against use and piriton is the only one that don't warn against.

My pharmacist(s) were useless too, despite midwife saying some were fine and to ask them which

Actually that's reminded me she said if it got really bad the only tablet I could take was piriton! My hay fever has really dropped off the past couple of weeks though anyway.

I can't see why eyes drops would be bad, I mean you're not swallowing them? Lol although I have occasionally by accident tasted them before when a drop has rolled down my cheek!

Wow how exciting! We watched some of the Paralympics at the stadium and had a fantastic day. We watched some of the 'murder ball' on the big screen funny to think we probably saw your DH!

Becca that must be a relief! I've got 2 days left then 3 weeks off!

Well that was almost pointless! Dr weighed me, asked when I last had my period, if I'd been pregnant before, filled it into a form and told me to hand it into reception!
Got to wait for the midwife to ring me know to book in my first appointment.

Oh I did ask about the hey fever tablets too. She said they can't say that they are safe but told me piriton is the one they do recommend if you really need it. Think I'm going to stick it out with my eye drops unless it gets real bad.
 Mini me due March 2014
