I STILL have no symptoms other than sore breasts & tiredness.

    I'm exactly the same.

Amazing Scan pictures ladies. I am so jealous that you all seem to have your 12week scans before me. I will be 14 weeks by the time I get my 12 week scan.....

Glad it was a little Prince. Think a little girl would have had too much pressure on her to be like Diana.

Thanks for the advice re heyfever! The pharmacist was less than helpful last week, she "couldnt recommend anything"! Luckily oh is an optom so got plenty of soothing eye drops at home!
    Will check will doc tonight.

    Faerie good luck tomorrow!

Sijou I asked my dr about hay fever & she said eye drops are fine, don't take tablets, but you can use a nasal spray but it needs to be the beconase one which is good as that's what I had.
Isn't it funny how they tell us different things? The only thing I've been "allowed" (and prescribed) to take is piriton tablets, I asked for eye drops etc but apparently they all have warnings against use and piriton is the only one that don't warn against.

My pharmacist(s) were useless too, despite midwife saying some were fine and to ask them which

  • Hi Ladies,

Lara, really sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself xxx

TTC39 - Sounds like it was just implantation bleeding, glad to hear it's stopped xxx

Becca, what an adorable puppy! :-)

    Lovely scan pics ladies btw!

AFM - Scan was at noon yesterday, but they were running nearly an hour late, so actually 1pm - ish. We both got really nervous waiting.

I was shocked by how much wriggling there was...baby is going to have to slow that down when it gets bigger, or I'll be in agony when I can feel the kicks! I was ill 3 times yesterday, (once when OH picked me up to go, once when we had some lunch while trying to get baby to move into a better position ( had been craving that baguette for nearly a month too!), and once on the way home), but hoping it's the heat & that it will start to subside soon as now 12+5.
Sonographer said that scan appeared normal, but wouldn't elaborate on the nuchal reading, and said that we have to wait for bloods for that.....needless to say have been checking my notes & googling to find out if the nuchal reading was within the good range this morning.

I had to have an extra blood test with my first pregnancy because we couldn't get a good nuchal reading, and then my results were border-line for needing an amniocentisis (luckily all turned out fine), but it meant I spent quite some time trying to find standardised curves for the various results to compare my readings against.

The best information I found was this: http://www.wolfson.qmul.ac.uk/epm/screening/calcrisk.html

Depending on your stats knowledge, it may be a bit tough to interpret, but the graph you want is the NT graph (assuming that your test was standard). The two curves show the range of results obtained from those affected and those unaffected with Down's Syndrome. HTH

Lovely pictures girls so cute :)

Well I had my second scan yesterday they made me wait an hour and in the end only saw me cos I made such a fuss that I would have to leave straight away if they didn't see me as I needed to get DD from school plus had to see her head for something she had done at school - she has ADHD so it happens!!

Well everything was fine with bean but apparently my ovaries are over stimulated thanks to the drugs I had, the consultant was really dismissive about it all esp as I had treatment abroad. He didn't give me any advice other than it would be checked at the 12 week scan! When I got home I checked on the info I had been given and apparently I shouldn't lift anything or have sex until its gone, which leaves me limbo for 6 to 7 weeks!! Also the pain in my hip is now going all the way down my leg and I've got cramps in my calf. One of the things you are meant to watch out for in over stimulation is cramps in your calf, so of course I spent last night worrying :( even though I'm pretty sure the cramp is from hip not the problem with the ovaries.

Anyway I've decided to go to my doctors tomorrow just to have a chat about it and try to get some reassurance. Trying to remember to drink more water as that is meant to help with the ovaries but I'm terrible at remember!!

Magpie27 - Do try not to worry too much about the cramp in your calves etc. But it is a good plan to swing by the doctor and get some reassurance, I'm sure they will calm your worries :) I'm a terror for remembering to drink so I have a daily challenge with my line manager. We each have a 750ml bottle and we see who finishes first/how many we drink. I'm on my second bottle today!

Well my parents now seem very happy but concerned - they don't want me to over do it or anything. Mum says she feels mean as they won't start looking to by me anything until I'm past 12 weeks - but that is absolutely fine with me!

As that was everyone on my side that matters told (just one auntie to tell but we will do that another time!) we wanted to get bf's family told. So we called his mum who was shocked but ecstatic. she told his dad and he thought she meant the middle brother again (has two already) then asked if it was youngest (absolute toe-rag) and when she said it was us he was beaming apparently!

Then we called middle brother and told him it was his turn to be an uncle now and he was chuffed (he then text his missus who text bf).

And finally we called round to bf's grandparents who were so happy and proud they were almost in tears! They have offered to buy us anything we want for the nursery but we've said no for now!

We've asked everyone to keep it off Facebook, which they are all sticking to thankfully! And bf's mum and grandparents have let some of the extended family (great aunts etc) know and a close family friend who burst in to tears of joy apparently!

I told my line manager at work too - I say I told her...mum rang me so I was trying to be discreet and not answer and it wasn't working and I was nibbling ginger nuts then when I came off the phone she asked outright haha now she won't let me lift anything *rolls eyes*

Bf's parents wanted to rush home from their holiday on the coast but we said no so instead they are driving an hour to Teesside today to look in baby shops! Ah dear...these 9 months are going to be long. I'm not the best/most eager shopper. Unless it's for Christmas! We are going to Ikea with them on Sunday to look at a few bits and I want to buy some material :)

I still can't get hold of the flipping midwife! I will try once more and then leave it a week to book through my doctors surgery I think. Why she can't just return my calls I don't know grr.

Picked up the maternity pack yesterday though - so many questions to answer before our first appointment with her!
