Visiting a friend up north, then a few days just doing nothing, then got my 4 year old niece staying with us, then 5 nights in Ibiza. Even if I'm sick as long as I can get over the airport, flight & transfer, I'm looking forward to air con & swimming pool neither of which I have here to get respite from the heat from!

Have you got any plans or are you dog training?!

I have the greasiest skin. I have never suffered with it anything like this. Does anyone have any ideas? I dont wear heavy foundation just mineral type powder as I used to suffer with acne as a teenager. I have some small spots but nothing to really mention but my nose forehead and by my nose literally is so shiney after being at work for an hour or so. I am sure its hormones but just wondered if anyone has anything that might help :-/

Sjlou-I have to take an anti histimane everyday. Cetirizine or zirtek is the brand name. Before we TTC I went to a specialist consultant at the hospital about it as there is no way I can't take it daily as symptoms are so bad if I don't. Consultant said to keep taking it during pregnancy as there's not evidence that it causes any harm to unborn babies. The consultant said that pharmaceutical firms put the 'not to be taken in pregnancy' just to cover their backs. In reality it's just that the UK doesn't generally do clinical trials on pregnant woman so they can't say thinks are 100% safe. I know this forum is not for medical advice & please do still see your Doc but thought you'd find it interesting to hear this since I was told by the specialist consultant in this area. x

    This is a good point.

If I want to check if something is safe I go on a US website that grades medicines, I think from a-d or something to let you know if its safe in pregnancy, for example I remember looking up before that Imodium was considered ok if you need it and the other option is dehydration, whereas here its just a blanket no because there is no research- not because its actually proven harmful. If I remember the name ill post it. Then you can use that to help you decide.

Becca I'm feeling ok today but the symptom of diarrhoea is not going away as I thought it was! Getting bloated at night & waking up way too early & last night the needing to pee thing started, but I'm pretty much ok at the mo. just very nervous really.

I read today it's a symptom of the progesterone increasing. Lots of people said they had it for a few weeks. Last time I dealt with the sickness as my ibs which is normally getting upset stomachs, stopped as my digestive system slowed down. But this time it seems to have sped it up. What if it comes out both ends!! Lol
  • Morning,

Been away for the long weekend - good to be back and seeing everyone's updates and pics.

AFM - the weekend has put my nausea all out of kilter so my previously successful management techniques aren't working and am really struggling. It was hard to have a regular stream of healthy foods while away (it was a festival) so think my blood sugar and water levels are down. Task for the next few days is to fix that.

We have our scan date!!! We've got a private clinic one on Saturday morning (early one as i am worried about my age and medical history)
Our official scan is 28th August. I'll be 13+2 then

Plan is to tell our folks after this weekend's early scan. I jut want a bit of security and certainty that all is ok before getting our families excited. The family are currently coping with my siblings chemo so I want to be sure I have good news for them all instead of all the bad they've had recently.
It'll be lovely to be able to talk to my mum and get her advice - it's been hard pretending there is "no other news" when we talk on the phone. We live really far away from our families so have arranged visits over the next few weekends so we can tell them all face to face.

Hope everyone is feeling good and looking after themselves.
