I'm 31, and this is my first pregnancy. If everything goes well, the baby is due around 6 weeks before my 32nd birthday. Not many of my friends have had kids yet. They all say they want kids in the future, but are a bit anti at the moment. Not sure how the news will go down!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0

Hope you can enjoy your weekend TL without worrying too much about Monday. I'm sure everything will be fine.
Can't believe you haven't got air con either, if you start to feel woozy at all make sure you go for some fresh air in the shade and drink lots of water! I usually hate the air con in my office (I'm always cold!) but loving it right now!
Claire, I'm not really 12 weeks yet so will hanging around for another week or so.The GP and midwifes were all obsessed with dating me a week further along than I am so I'm having my scan at 11 weeks.
Ive got the dr ringing me in 2 mins and Im already debating whether to pretend I had my period a week later than I really did as they will never go from the ov date and I ov on cd20.
Having said that Ill get a scan a week earlier so may as well go along with them. I probably wont get a nuchal scan anyway so it doesn't really matter.0 -
no air conditioning as it's a Grade II Listed Building, plus the windows have like glass shutters so whilst you can open the window there's only half of it exposed, it's triple glazed as it's on a main road.
I've been leaving work at the end of core time, so 15:30 and my car has air conditioning, i spend my afternoons dreaming of it!
I'm spending a few quid on cold drinks on the way in to put in the fridge at work. not very :money: but the heat and the dry mouth combined are making me drink like a fish.
I'm also popping to the bathroom every so often to run cold water on my hands up to my elbows, then not drying it off so it keeps my skin cool for a while
Jox, you can get packs of 12 bottles for £2, i think it's nestle water but it's 500ml so quite cheap, just get your DH to lift it!
thanks Birdie and Claire, i hate being a debbie downer round here but it's hard not to be, just have to keep thinking that all the statistics are on my side. just wish i still had symptoms, they've really faded apart from dry mouth and irritability lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Yeah Claire, I was tempted to argue it/act like I got my LMP wrong and make them push the scan date back a week... but didn't want to wait! If it means I have to go back for another scan in a week or 2 then I really don't mind!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

For those suffering with the heat at work... when I was working night shifts I used to put one of those evian spray bottles (they do a kindof aerosol for your skin) in the fridge and periodically have a good old cool down with it. It's a really fine mist so just makes you look a bit 'dewy' rather than a sopping wet weirdo and it was looooovely for when the ward got too warm. I got mine from amazon and I don't think they were too extravagant, but there are probably more MSE ways of doing the same thing.
ETA: thinking of you TL and sending you all the positive wishes in the world.0 -
TL I think the problem is that once you've experienced a bad time, the statistics tend to go out the window even though the chances really are on our side, you just cant help but think, well that didn't pan out before!
I feel very pessimistic so right now all Im trying to do is concentrate on not feeling sick, and keeping going, and trying not to think too far ahead.
Im not surprised you dream of your car then, sounds horrible!
Can you get a mini desk fan?
If youre almost 12 weeks then Im sure the symptoms dropping off is normal. Mine went at 9 weeks before -which yes I also read is normal, but I think 12 weeks is much much more common.0 -

Thanks TL
I'm a debbie downer without symptoms too, must learn patience and gratitude!
A pg friend of mine posted a pic on facebook of her little dustbin at work filled with cold water for her to put her feet in under her desk! I may have to nick that idea...0 -
Just spoke to the dr and its now on my records that I am at the moment, pregnant, so that's a relief!
Jox - that's such a funny idea!0 -
