    Congrats starshining! :T

I don't feel too bad today. Had some good news that my OH has been granted 9 days compassionate leave so he'll be home Thursday. I know it might sound a bit over the top seeing as we don't actually know what's happening but I want him home 'just in case'
His work have been great and have already arranged and paid for his flights home. They've even sorted out a taxi from the airport so I don't have to go pick him up.

I'm just going to keep myself busy for the next 6 days and will report back on Saturday with hopefully good news :)

PLMBL - welcome to the group. :) I'm really nervous about mc too. This is my first but most people I know have had one and I can't bear the thought of having my 12 week scan and finding out the baby stopped growing weeks before. However I don't want to spoil this time as I want to enjoy it and make memories with my OH. Will you be getting an early scan?

Becca - I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. I've started getting more vivid dreams now and last night it included someone I'm dreading seeing at work, so real life worries do affect what we dream. Maybe think nice thoughts before sleep.

    Starshining - congratulations!

Cherry_Bomb - it's great that your OH is being given compassionate leave. That must be a relief to know that he'll be with you, what a nice company he must work for.

AFM - I'm desperate to tell people and terrified to do so as well. I just remember how devastated my sister was when she found out the baby had stopped growing and I really don't want to see my mum get excited and then have to give her bad news later. I'm only 5+2 so I've got ages to go, so i'm thinking of getting a private scan at 8 weeks. Has anyone else done this?

I'm not looking forward to commuting in this heat this week, I hope I get a seat. Also I don't know what to wear as I don't have many trousers that fit because I was hoping to lose weight and now due to bloating the ones I do have are very snug. Have any of you gone shopping for clothes that will cope with an expanding waist line already?

    Morning Ladies,
welcome and congratulations to the newbies :)

Kynthia- i bought 'old lady pants' as DH called them - a pair of plain black pants from M&S that have an elasticated waist. they were £25 so a bit expensive for the 5 weeks i'll be wearing them (I'll get maternity trousers if the 12 week scan is ok) but I wear them every single day so getting my money's worth that way!
I had a private scan at 7 weeks as i had a missed miscarriage in my first pregnancy, but research suggests that if you have a scan and everything is ok at 8.5 weeks then the chance of miscarriage drops to 2%, so if you have the patience i'd hold out til then.

Cherry_Bomb, so glad your DH has been given leave, although i hope it turns out it wasn't needed if you get me

AFM this heat is making me tired and grumpy and grumpy and tired lol also belly was really tender yesterday but then by nighttime my little underthefat bump was a lot bigger so hopefully it's Flutter having a good stretch out down there to make room for some more growing :)

Take care of yourselves ladies, drink lots! no one likes a fainty pregnant lady :rotfl:

    Welcome to PLMBL

Good news about your OH getting leave Cherry Bomb! Hope you don't need him, but nice to know he's going to be with you whatever happens. :)

Kynthia, I tend to live in dresses anyway so have no tight trouser issues (as I don't wear them!) but have bought a couple of stretchy dresses in a size bigger which should be suitable to wear for a few months. :) Feels a bit weird buying maternity clothes so soon so I'm trying not to! :o

I'm really paranoid now that my symptoms have dropped off, half convinced that this is bad news and don't know what to do about it. Do I wait 2-3 weeks for the 12 week scan (BTW, I wish they'd pull their finger out and send me an appointment!) or try to wrangle an early scan - but is there any point when I'll have my proper scan soon? My hospital only seems to take referrals from 'Health Professionals' for the EPU, so would I have to go to the doctor first to beg for a referral anyway? Urgh, I wish this was easier and I could just relax in the knowledge that I've got a healthy baby in there and there's nothing to worry about! :o

Anyway, hope everyone had a nice weekend in the sun. :)

Hi Everyone :hello: It's not even 9am and it's roasting! Feeling sick and a bit tired as DD2 thought 5am would be a good time to get up this morning!

    WelcomePleaseletmebelucky

Cherry - Really glad your OH is coming home to you :)

Wish I could just fast forward us all to 12 weeks so that we would know everything is ok.

Firefly - When I was in having DD2 the granny visiting opposite was 38!! :rotfl: Made me feel old cos I was 39. Never mind, that's nothing compared to how they get their knickers in a twist when you're past the big 40!

I've still got maternity clothes that I could wear but trying not to just yet. If I let it all hang out I think it will be so obvious I'm pg even tho most of it is just my cake baby :o
  • Thank you everyone for your lovely welcome :A.

I agree it's a fine balance between enjoying what you have and at the same time being prepared for the worst. The first mc I had (3rd pregnancy), I hadn't even realised I was pregnant because I had a coil fitted and had a lot of stuff going on in RL so hadn't paid attention to the symptoms. I went to the walk in clinic thinking I had appendicitis or something! Anyway, they are happy to believe the coil caused the miscarriage and therefore my second mc (4th pregnancy) has been my one true mc. For this reason, and because the stats are 1 in 4, the doc said I don't need an early scan because I'm not above average and I have 2 children already. I might see what the midwife says when I see her at 8+6.

Cherry_Bombso pleased your OH is coming home!

Becca, I think bad or at least very vivid dreams are perfectly normal at the moment. Scary though, hope you are ok.

Birdie I hope you get what you want re scan.

Faithhope I feel your pain re early risers!!

Morning! Hope everyone is ok and enjoying this lovely weather.

Birdie, I think you are a day ahead of me - my symptoms are easing too, so much so that I did another test to put my mind at rest! I still don't feel well but I don't feel as dreadful as the last few weeks.

I managed to get an appointment with my GP about my migraines, she isn't convinced thats what they are and has referred me to neurology to be tested for epilepsy! I am sure they are migraines so I'm not too worried but because she's mentioned epilepsy I can't drive until I get the all clear :( I'm itching to go out now I feel a bit better but have to rely on my husband if I want to go anywhere. I don't want to risk the bus incase I faint in the heat!

Hi ladies, welcome PLMBL, I think I remember you from miscarriage board, nice to see you over here.
Hubby and I have this week off work (lucky to pick this week!) and we're planning to be at home: mix up some fun days, some rest for me and some jobs. Today I'm having an easy morning while he plays tennis, this afternoon we're at the hospital for blood tests and then to B&Q and town. We're hoping to put in a new bathroom between now and Xmas so it's a first look and some inspiration today. Tomorrow we're planning to go to the seaside :)
Hope everyone is coping with the heat. I listened to the tennis from bed instead of watching yesterday, needed the lie down! My symptoms have eased (I'm nearly 11 weeks) so it's good to know its not just me feeling that way as I have been worrying. 10 days til my 12week scan....

  • Morning all,

Have spent enough time lurking on this thread for the last week or so and now feeling brave enough to join.

Hubby and I got the BFP a fortnight ago. Its our first, we haven't been married long and were planning on waiting before starting a family. best laid plans eh? :o

Have spent a couple of weeks just trying to process it. Taking pos every other day to make sure its real and have just received news from the drs surgery that we are indeed pg.
    Gulp! But :j

My last AF was 27th May so that puts me at 6 weeks today. I have tried to work out the DD but I don't have a 28 day cycle - often shorter (25-26) so no idea. Early March is all I can determine, maybe the 3rd.
Will make a drs appointment this week.

So, already learned so much from you guys (thanks!) and hopefully will continue to read your posts to make me feel normal!
