Congratulations Blondy, it's lovely to see you here. :)

My hubbie has been lovely too. I feel like it's such a special time for us as a couple, especially as no-one else knows yet.

Hi - its been a while since I posted, firey so sorry for your loss. Hope you have found some support and do be kind to yourself xx
I have now received the appointment for booking in with the midwife, so i will have my 12 week scan on Thursday 18th and all being well the booking in on the Friday 19th. Just wondering, for those who already had their booking in appointments, did you take your partner and was it helpful? I thought they would ask for us both to attend for family history etc but it doesn't say anything about him in my appointment letter!
    Congrats and welcome newbies xxx

Fran, I didn't take my OH to booking in, he would have been so bored as it was just lots and lots of form filling! :)

Congratulations Blondy! I was bloated and crampy straight away too so I'd say it was normal, if a little uncomfortable! :)

It's lovely to hear how many of us are being looked after by our OHs. Yay to lovely OHs! :T

Oooh I didn't see that you know you're having a girl Lily, congratulations! You said you thought it'd be pink! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I've never taken my OH .. He didn't even know I was pregnant when I went to the last 2 :p

They only want to know about congenital abnormalities .. which the anomaly scans would usually pick up now and anything like diabetes (so they can send you for GTT) heart disease, high BP .. which if in OH's family is pretty irrelevant.. and they only need to know immediate family.. parents, siblings and I'm pretty sure most of us know that much detail about our outlaws to give that info.

It is a waste of time taking OH if I am honest.. they don't do anything interesting that would alleviate their boredom.. urine, blood, bp and a million dull questions.

Is it normal to feel bloated and cramps at this stage, no jeans etc feel comfy atm. x

Blondy I think you're only a few days behind me as according to FF I'm due 7th March. :) Do you know what date you ovulated?

Yes being bloated and crampy is very normal. Having very strong cramps for three days is what made me take a pregnancy test. Even more than a week later I still have bad cramps and now sore boobs. Heat can cause bloating but apparently in early pregnancy the progesterone means your digestion slows down which makes you bloated.

thanks for your advice chicks :) Hubby is coming to scan on 18th so its good news he doesn't have to book time off for the 19th too!

I'm now about 10 weeks and feeling like I've got a wee bump coming... though being size 16 anyway it doesn't exactly stand out! My weight has gone up and down in last 4 years or so the good news is I have some bigger clothes at the back of my wardrobe and wont need to shop maternity until its a real bump!
Have a nice weekend all x

Fran I'm the same, can feel a little hard bump under the flab and my knickers are cutting in a bit, luckily I had a baggy top on but felt like a sausage link lol

Onions give me heartburn. I love onions :(

Does anyone else have vivid dreams? They're really dull but really vivid, last night's was that I was proud to have an antique iron bench and then went to a cafe that sold all types of coffee but not latte.
Vivid. But really really dull x

    haha, nice bench :)
Last night I dreamt that I had a newborn baby (though she just happened to be my niece) and then after I woke for a wee I dreamed about being a girl guide... I'm having a lot of real and memorable dreams even if they aren't that exciting! Was same with last pregnancy, though had a few nightmares then too.

    Welcome Smart Cat and Congratulations.

frano-o - my OH has come to all our appointments. I think it all comes down to how involved each male partner wants to be at this stage. We tried for so long and had so many fertility tests that my OH wants to be included.

Becca - yay for helpful husbands. Mine has been getting up before me every morning and walking the dogs so that I can have a longer lay in bed. Also he is doing more than his fair share of the cooking - mainly because I don't have much appetite so it might just be self survival mode 8-P

As for bumps I don't think I can see or feel mine yet but my jeans are getting a bit too snug but that is probably just bloating. Still don't feel pregnant at all.

    10+3
