I use this one: http://www.pregnology.com/faralong.php I think it has more info than other sites and I like the photos! When is your scan starshinning?

I've been feeling much better the last few days, I haven't had a migraine for 3 days and haven't been sick in a while now. My stomach still feels queasy and I feel weak but I almost feel human again! I've got one more shift tomorrow then I'm on annual leave for a week - just in time for the supposed heat wave!

I've got my booking in appointment on Tuesday and I'm really nervous, not sure why.

Cherry_bomb - I googled private early pregnancy scans just last night and found a clinic in London charging about £150/170 for a sonographer to do it. They also did evenings and weekends and you could pay for a consultant to do it too. I just don't know if I can wait until 12 weeks but I don't think my OH will support me when there's no cause for concern.

I'm paying for my early scan privately and it costs £75 the company is called My Ultrababy that's for a scan for 5-8 weeks x

£75 is good! I've gone with a clinic in Cambridge who are charging me £99. To be honest they were one of the first few clinics I spoke to who were able to offer me an appointment at such late notice. If this going private thing was a luxuary rather than a neccessity I'd definitely shop about more

But I got my appointment tomorrow at 10am so not long to wait

Don't go for a scan at 5 weeks ladies. If there is any discrepancy in your dates it'll be a total waste of money as you really won't see anything.
I had an internal scan at 5+1 with the hospital and all the lady could see was a round sac - no yolk and no fetal pole. Until you can see a heartbeat having an early scan doesn't mean anything :(

Having said that, £75 for an early scan is quite cheap as far as they go. Still extremely expensive but you can't put a price on reassuring someone.

I know it's a really worrying time but try to relax and put your trust in what is meant to be.

When I was bleeding last year I kept rushing to A&E and sitting there crying, they took my hcg and over the days the levels dropped, I was devastated.... I even went to a "healer" in Bristol and she told me that the pregnancy would be fine...I lost the baby later that day...

When I had the scan at 5 + something weeks there was a sac but couldn't see an embryo, but that was when they told me that I had a fibroid which I didn't know about.

This time I'm still worried but trying to just wait it out, if it's meant to be then it will....but I know you can't help yourself feeling anxious...

My hubby wants to tell his dad next week cos it's his b'day, but I want to wait to see if we get to 12 wks!

I felt quite nauseous today at work and had to put paper napkins on the floor of the loo and lie down for 20 mins! Maybe I need to bring a rug with me for next time that happens.

    Take care everyone xx

grr couldn't get appointment so asked for the doctor to tell me what i could take and the answer came back 'paracetamol' oh well least i won't feel guilty taking that yesterday and it did dull it a bit, but only a bit.

though to be fair i did have an early night and a relaxed morning and still got in for the start of core time which is 10:00- so i think i'm going to make sure i do that once/twice a week. i'm usually setting off before seven to beat traffic (i hate traffic) but clearly i can't cope with that anymore! just looked and i've got 21 hours of flexi time, so 3 days worth, so i can afford to have some short days :rotfl:

can't believe it's double the price i paid in london for a scan! i waited as long as i could before having it so i would see a heartbeat if everything was ok, which was 7 weeks. my last pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage and i only found out 5/6 week after the baby died which was the worst part for me. so i promised myself an early scan this time so if things had gone wrong i wouldn't have so long to find out.

just signed the contracts for the house, hopefully won't be too much longer now! want my own home again, love living with my parents but they're away at the minute and it's made us realise how much we miss our privacy x

ETA: forgot to say lilymay, congrats on finding out she's a she! how lovely for you x

    Congrats blondy!

Just because I can't say this anywhere else....
My husband has been amazing. I've been a lazy slob the last week and he's encouraged me to rest, done lots of housework, learnt how to use the washing machine & just generally been lovely :)
