I wish I could drink a lot - that seems to be what makes me heave. I know I need to keep my fluids up and am trying but I would rather keep a little down than try and keep a lot down and bring the whole lot up :(

Sam, what about frozen liquids? Ice pops etc? Salad and fruit have a lot of water in them too :) I've been the same as you generally, struggling to drink as much as I'd like to...

I've been drinking alot too, I got a free book from Asda about pregnancy by Tommys a few months ago and have been reading that, it says our bodies need to produce 50% more blood when pregnant (I think I've got that right....) so we need to drink more fluids to help with that, but caffeine in coffee and tannin in tea can hinder iron absorption so limit intake. I've got a pint glass and a straw on my desk and fill it up when I get the urge, water is boring so I add a little drop of cordial sometimes to liven it up.
Generally I don't feel anything though, except my boobs are very sore and I have scary thoughts of how we will manage (even though I've wanted a baby for years!) or other what-ifs....must banish those from my thoughts and count my blessings.
I haven't been to the doc yet (I think I'm waiting to get to 7 or 8 weeks first) but my EDD should be 17th Feb 2014 (all being well)

Excellent news on the scan Becca. :)

Jox it is a scary time even though this is my 2nd I had DS 9 years ago. A lot has changed. No 12 week scans then or the amount of testing they have now.

I will make more effort to drink. Teamlowe - I had not thought about ice pops that sounds like a good idea. I eat alot of salad and fruit anyway so hopefully I am getting some water though that.

I am off to Disney tonight. Slightly more excited than my DS. Its a flying trip as we are driving over tonight when my OH finishes work and staying in a hotel nearby and then we are going to Disney tomorrow and driving home. It is going to be a hard old slog but I am doing the UK drive and my partner is doing the France driving so it means we do about three hours each.

Last time we went to France we had a massive arguement as I wanted to drive some of it. I asked my partner to drive after about two hours in France as I was struggling with the lanes and roundabouts and he said 'I have fatigue, so I can not do any driving now'.

I drove the whole 10.5 hours from South of France to home. Needless to say I was fuming. 'Fatigue'. He can be a nightmare when he is tired and doesn't get his own way :rotfl:

Welcome to the newbies and thanks for everyones news.
All well here, after feeling terrible Tuesday night - bloated yucky tum and little sleep - I took Wednesday off work and then was back yesterday feeling fresher. One more week at work then i've got a week's holiday - don't have any plans just to relax and spend some time together with hubby. The following week is my 12 week scan (I'm around 9 weeks now).
Symptoms seem to be different every day, still lucky not to have been sick, though I do feel nauseous every now and then. The bloating/ indigestion is nasty, then there's the occasional headache, boob-ache and overwhelming tiredness! Would not swap it for the world though and just really hoping that this bean sticks.
Best wishes to you all x

Hope you enjoy Disney Sam! I have to say I think you're crazy to drive straight home after a day at the park though!

Have you seen the Argos ad? Even the aliens in that have got pregnant. That would be v. annoying if I was still TTC.

I was going to wait but thought I should get my midwife appointment in the diary so I got it sorted. It's not till 25th July and will just be form filling I know. I could go to my doctor and ask for an early scan due to my history but have decided against. The ideal thing would be to have a scan every week but that's not going to happen so I'll just wait till the 12 week one. A bit about me - I'm 41 and already have 2 girls - a toddler and a 14 year old. Didn't mention my 14 year old on TTC thread as I was a bit para about people in RL knowing who I was but how likely is that?

Are most of you having your first or not? If you are just don't ask about labour - I might have to be honest!!! :rotfl:

Sorry Birdie, I shouldn't have mentioned the L word. It is such a long way off for all of us :)
