    Hi everyone,

I have just come back the the EPU and popped a cake in the oven as its my sons birthday today.

All was ok, I have a small sakc of blood or something like that by the yolk sac and the sonographer thought it was this that may have bleed. Its 7mm at its largest point.

Really was confused by the dates though. Baby measures 5+4 but she said as the heartbeat was so clear that its probably more 6+4 which would work out with my dates but then on the scan pictue it says 7+4. Work that out!!

Its not very clear but hey...

Firey - here it is. I posted it on here. There was a mix up with dates but 6+4 was the final confirmed but they said it was so early it is hard to be accurate. The heat beat was the heavier white point in the long lighter white. They said the ring section above which you can just see is the yolk sac feeding the baby before the pacenta (not sure when that comes ? 12 weeks I think or just before)

It says 7+4 as they had that from my Dr but I knew I couldn't be that as it didn't match any dates at all. 6+4 made it fit perfectly.

You can't see the bleed. She did indicate its just above - but it all looked the same. I couldn't tell the ovaries either. Amazing skill to be a sonographer I feel x

    7+6 today

that's amazing that scan picture :) did they do it with that internal thing? I wasn't expecting that, even though I didn't have it done in the end anyway, I thought it was going to be a ultrasound belly scan ha.

good luck firey, hope this week doesn't drag too much for you!
IIRC it's transvaginal until 7 weeks as things are too small to see otherwise- at my 7 week scan Flutter was only 9mm x

Yes that was with an internal thingy lol. I must say I felt a bit 'damp' downstairs and for the next few hours as she used loads of lubricant type stuff. Don't know if yours was the same TeamLowe.

As TeamLowe said the bean is so tiny so I think they get better images from an internal.

In my last pregnancy I had to have an internal at 10 weeks because I have a womb that is tilted backwards so it just was not clear. (There is a word for it.)

I hope the time goes quick for your Firey. xx

    Retroverted ;)

I also ended up having an internal for the same reason. The reason they've said baby is further than 5+4 is probably because of the heartbeat too - from what I heard sonographers assume if they can see the hb then you're at least 6 weeks - they then add the number of mm to this as the fetal pole is growing around 1mm a day at this stage :) (i.e. fetal pole of 4mm = 6 weeks 4 days)

I don't know if I've explained myself brilliantly well there, but hope it helps :rotfl:

Hungrykitty, I agree with you on the salt & vinegar crisps (altho craved ready salted for a few weeks too) but ginger biscuits (which I normally love) are too buttery or something to me now! Now rich tea biscuits...that's the ticket ;) I got smoothie tubes to freeze too, cos I couldn't stomach fruit or veg for a while there!

Thanks bigzippy, rich tea biscuits are the way forward! I've just had a little nap and then had a couple when I woke up. Definitely seems to help the nausea for me!

So pleased to see your good news Becca :) It is a little soon, but it shouldn't make too much of a difference as it's mainly discussing family history, checking BMI and going over the services in your area. I hope the bleeding's settled now, but if it hasn't it might be worth asking the midwife to refer you for an early scan.

Really hope you're well and huge CONGRATULATIONS!!! :T:j:T:j

    I'm fine thanks :)
I had a few spots of pink and nothing else. I get an early scan due to fertility treatment (they may have released 2 or more eggs with the trigger) so I'm just waiting for a date & time x

    How r u? X
