Absolutely gorgeous scan pic Optimistic Mummy, and very glad your scan went well too Lippy.

Hope you're feeling much better this morning Star.

I would definitely have considered a home birth had circumstances been different, so I don't think you're mad at all! Please bear in mind though that up to 40% of first time Mums (depending on which area you're in) will end up transferring to hospital - not that the figure should put you off, but it's something to be aware of.

I'm someone else who doesn't understand the competitiveness that some women seem to have about their method of delivery and feeding / weaning / babywearing choices... It's possible to be a wonderful parent without feeling the need to make all other parents feel that their choices are wrong.

Lovely news optimistic! I don't think I ever put you on the old lists (sorry!) so can't update your info!

Just dropped DS off at nursery and he was so upset :( It's usually OH that takes him and I pick him up but that wasn't possible this morning. Oh it was horrible :( I hate doing it. Going to try and distract myself with some retail shopping...I am desperate for some new clothes.

Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Are you buying maternity clothes Lily? I really needed a new cardi for work, but had a bit of a dither because it seemed silly to buy maternity now when I'm so tiny, but daft to buy something that won't fit me in a couple of months. I eventually bought a maternity cardi xx

Oh dear, my blood test was a disaster! 2 nurses tried and failed; I had to drink a litre and a half of water and sit around with my arms dangling for half an hour to plump up my veins and still nothing! Now sporting 6 holes in my arms and feeling quite peaky. :( Have to go to the hospital next week which I could really do without! :o

Amy, can't you just buy a drapey cradi in a size bigger so it's cosy for whilst you're still small but doesn't look/feel too tight once you're showing? I had a wardrobe clear out last night (getting rid of stuff I was planning on slimming into this summer... not happening! :p) and noticed that I need more workwear but no idea what to buy!! :o

Lippy - Is this your first baby? I remember my 12 week scan with DD. It was lovely and very special. I think I've had too many (and too many bad ones) to get excited about them anymore but I always remember the first one :)

I've updated your EDD though you'll be leaving us soon! How many weeks have they put you at?

Yes this will be my first :j
I'm 11 weeks 5 days today according to the doc. I don't want to leave all you lovely ladies! Will be watching and waiting for you all to join the next thread.

Glad your scan went well Optimistic :D

Got a early reassurance scn booked for monday morning.:)

Shining Star - How are you feeling today?

Birdie - Sounds like you are vampire resistant. Hope someone at the hospital knows how to get the job done without too much fuss.

Lilymay - Hope your DS settled down quickly at nursey.

I don't but maternity clothes except for jeans. I'm usually a 12 so just buy size 14 and then 16 tops for when I have a bump. I have worn maternity jeans since I had DS because they are really comfy so will just buy some more of them.

Maternity gear is so overpriced IMO. You can get equally well fitting 'normal' clothes without the enhanced price tag.

Good luck for the scan on Monday firefly :)

Lippy - You can stay for 2 more days ;)

Birdie - I can really sympathise. My left arm doesn't give blood, ever. Sadly, that means you get lots of puncture wounds in the same place!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. The weather today has been stunning xx
