Totally unrelated but all I can think about is GARLIC BREAD:D

I literally have been covering every meal in garlic. I must stink. I have always liked it but literally I just want to keep eating it continually. Anyone else got any cravings?:D

Optimistic is natural to be worried, just remember the statistics are on your side.
Having no symptoms doesn't mean anything, just think of all those 'I didn't know I was pregnant' stories with healthy babies :)

I'm really scared after last time, especially as it was a missed miscarriage but at the same time optimistic as the chance of two in a row is 2% and blood relatives have only ever had one. Plus I'm trying to enjoy it whilst it lasts x

Amyloofoo, I have hypermobility (along with other things) and it was one of the first things that got worse and tipped me off that there might be a chance... I have mentioned it previously to docs , physios and now to midwife. Midwife basically said they won't do anything until it becomes a real problem and then they might send me for physio (which of course there'd be a wait for). Previous medical bods said I may have a c section to prevent the hips from dislocation during birth. Either way, with my conditions my midwife reckons I'll be referred for consultant led care, so we'll see if that happens and what they do... In the meantime, you could get a maternity belt, worn over your hips, to help keep your hips in line more?

That's pretty much exactly what's happened to me, I've been referred to physio, and she's going to talk to the 'normal' pregnancy class and see if any of it would be suitable otherwise there'll be a wait. I'm already referred for consultant led care (first appointment on 20th) and wouldn't be surprised if a c-section is on the table for various reasons. I've been looking at maternity belts, but wouldn't want to get one without discussing it with a physio in case I did more harm than good.

In other news, I've now been diagnosed with hyperemesis as I've lost more than 5% of my booking weight and my urine sample indicated I was dehydrated - now I'm being followed up in antenatal clinic, referred to another doctor to discuss changing meds and have been told to just go in for IV fluids if I am struggling with oral fluids and showing signs of dehydration. I've been signed off work until the 17th, so no doubt my manager will be delighted :o

Congratulations mincepiemonster, hope you're treating yourself! I really hope I'll be following in your footsteps before too long, but have to keep cancelling my lessons atm... I really don't want to be unable to drive with a young baby - public transport around here is hideous.

Will be thinking of you tomorrow Optimistic Mummy and hope your scan is as lovely and clear as Lily's was.

TL - Sending you lots of postive thoughts, I'm sure everything is going to be fine and your OH will have a wonderful Father's day present :D

Sam - Garlic on everything has got to be one of the most anti-social cravings ever :rotfl: I'm not sure that it's a craving as such, but I've been consuming huge amounts of very dilute vimto in the search for hydration... oh, and ready salted hula hoops.

Mincepiemonster - Many Congratulations on passing your test. My OH passed his test earlier this year, its a great feeling:j
Birdie - That is so sweet of your OH. I have a feeling mine is about to go the same way as we just came back from the first midwife appointment with a 'manual' that he has had his nose stuck in since we got home. Have to say that I am so glad he is taking an interest tho'.

TL - Maybe fathers day is a GOOD omen. It is possible for good things to happen too;)

Had my first appointment with midwife today....she was lovely. Took lots of time to get to know us, Congratulated us, and gave us loads of info to take home and read. She is referring me for consultant led care because of family history, age and medical history and the fact that I had some fertility treatment. She is also arranging an early reassurance scan for us. She was really funny and told me that Dr Google is dead to me now:rotfl:. If I have any questions I have to consult the manual or ring one of the midwife/maternity helpline numbers she gave me. It was also interesting that when she looked up my notes on the computer it said PCOS even tho I have never actually been diagnosed with it.
  • Thanks guys, went for reassurance scan this evening and it was lovely :D I heard little ones heartbeat which was the best sound in the world... I thought I was 8+0 but been dated at 7+6, which could change at dating scan but a day off is neither here nor there :T

So that takes my EDD to 16th Jan 2014!

To celebrate an all round fab day we are waiting for a large takeaway curry to be delivered in a few mins, we're used to having tea at 5.45 with DD so I'm ready to eat my arm :rotfl:

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Optimistic. I knew somebody had a scan tomorrow but couldn't remember who! Everything will be fine :)

Amy - Boo for being diagnosed with HG, but glad you are being looked after. You're in good company, what with that Royal one having it and all ;)

Firefly - Great news your midwife appointment went well :)

Congratulations on passing your driving test Mincepiemonster! :T Lovely news about seeing your baby too! All round great day I'd say! :D

I made my OH learn to drive a couple of years ago as I was adamant that both of us needed to be able to drive if we were to have a baby. Its so good knowing that now we've got the freedom of having 2 drivers (after I was the only one for 4 years!) but it's just a shame that I hate my OH's driving! :p It scares me a little then we argue so I still end up doing 90% of the driving! :o

Sorry to hear about the hyperemesis Amyloofoo, hope you start to feel better sooner rather than later, must be awful. :(

Hope your scan goes well today Optimistic Mummy. :)

I think my OH has already started nesting, is it possible for that to happen to men?! :rotfl: I got home yesterday to find 2 of our clutter cupboards organised and he's now checking out everything else in the flat to attack and sort! Told him to stay away from my stuff as it's not worth the lynching he'll get if he starts binning my things! :p

I started reading the Emma's Diary booklet but she annoyed me in the first entry going on about trying for 5 months and how 'Nick' had been worried he was shooting blanks... pfft, that's nothing! :p I'm clearly still in my bitter 'Why is this taking so long, what's wrong with me?' mindset!

Good luck to optimistic-mummy for your scan today!!

Congrats to MPM for passing your test and scan, must be wonderful hearing your beans HB :j

Lilymay1 - can you change my scan date to 10th Jul 13, i gave the wrong date, I blame DH for telling me the wrong date! I know my EDD is going to be probably 10 days later as my scan on monday estimated i was 6 weeks (not 7+2 as they first estimated) but will comfirm when i have my 12 week scan :)

AFM, I'm just plodding along, the brown blood has stopped (thank god!!) and feeling good. This is the longest wait ever til my scan... worse than the 2WW...
