Lippy - Is this your first baby? I remember my 12 week scan with DD. It was lovely and very special. I think I've had too many (and too many bad ones) to get excited about them anymore but I always remember the first one :)

I've updated your EDD though you'll be leaving us soon! How many weeks have they put you at?

lippy1923 - sounds like a lovely scan, great news.

TeamLowe - sounds like a nice Midwife.:) I had a lovely one 9 years aho with Toby and she was so kind but my friend had a terrible one who was very mean and rude.

Mazzarati2000 - Considering a Homebirth doesn't make you mad - for some its perfect. I do not think it would be for me. I am not sure what pain relief you can have and I am very much of the mindset now that its not a competition on how little pain relief you used but that you got your baby out safely. I don't know why but some people make me feel bad because I couldn't cope with the pain and had pethedine. My son was fine so that was the right decision for me. I tried to just use gas and air but I just couldn't. I don't know if that makes sense....:o

Sam - I think some women think it is a competition. Same with breastfeeding. All you can do is rise above it. There is no right or wrong when it comes to birthing or feeding a baby and we all do what is best for us and our situation.

I had an elective c-section last time, at 37 weeks, and my son was formula fed. Quick, phone social services so I don't get chance to 'harm' this one......:/ Pfft!

Teamlowe - Your m/w does sound lovely :)

Star - Hope the pain goes. Sleep on it and keep well hydrated

    Lily xx

Optomistic Mummy - Great scan pic. You must be so proud. I am sure that no-one will mind you staying around until you feel ready to move on to the next thread.

Lippy - Glad your scan went well too.

TL - Some healthcare staff are simpky amazing. Its so nice to feel 'listened' to.

Starshining - Hope the pain is nothing serious. If you are still worried in the morning then give your mdwife a phone.

Great news about the scans Lippy and Optimistic Mummy! :D

Sam, I don't think there's anything wrong about using pain relief, or how much you have! :) I know that I won't be trying to be all 'earth mother' about it and will accept anything they give me! :p

As for breast vs formula, I'll try to BF but I've got no issues about using formula if that's the right choice for me and baby when the time comes. I'm currently watching my SIL struggle to BF her LO and he is pretty much constantly attached to her boob... I don't know if I could deal with that! :o

Off for my third appointment of the week, this time to get blood taken. I'm armed with chocolate to eat before I go and I'm going to walk (about 15-20 minutes) there so I hope it'll get my blood pumping a little and make it easier to get some out! :)

Weighed myself this morning and I've lost 2lbs this week but feel massive?! Pregnancy bloat seems to feel and weigh differently to AF bloat! :)

Oh and my OH is definitely a man on a mission. He's on a massive declutter attack of our flat! He's now decided that my craft stuff needs to be moved out of the spare room/nursery so is clearing space for it in the hall cupboard and he started talking about moving wardrobes around and painting every wall and God knows what else! Can't really complain though! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
