What colour is it hun? If it's red or getting heavier then maybe it's time to call the EPU? If it's brown though then it's probably nothing to worry about - had you recently had sex (sorry if TMI), I'm still spotting from the internal scan. Hope it clears up soon and proves to be nothing.

I think a few people have found that tests start getting lighter around that stage due to the high levels of hCG, sometimes you can actually get a darker result by diluting urine :o The scan and heartbeat is a really good sign, as is you being able to find the hb with the doppler - I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry if you struggle to find it every time. Baby's position and the fullness of your bladder, etc can make a huge difference.

It's light brown and no sex recently x

It sounds normal, but I know it must be worrying anyway... could you give your midwife a ring? I know you're seeing her on Tuesday but she may be able to reassure you before :grouphug:

Thanks amy. It was a diluted test as my undiluted does seem fainter but panicked thinking that it wasn't quite right. Still not sure but apparently at about 8-10 weeks levels can go down anyway so maybe it's just that.. The scan was really good, apparently miscarriage rate is now about 1.5% but I always look for negatives and expect to be one of the unlucky ones. Think I'll leave the home doppler for a few days as it's just making me worry more.

AFM - had the scan yesterday - got dated ahead at 8+3 (19mm CRL) and heartbeat measured 182 so was really pleased. Then came home and even managed to find the heartbeat with my home doppler twice. However, couldn't find it again last night nor today (tried a few times) and think my tests aren't as strong as before so getting really worried. For some reason I just have a bad feeling about everything. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Sweetheart, this is why I'm wary about dopplers. Seriously, a midwife wouldn't use a doppler at 8 weeks! Even at 18 weeks pregnant, my midwife took 20 minutes to find my baby's heartbeat (and he was a big whopper of a baby and she knows precisely what she's doing!). Step away from the doppler....

I second this. Midwives in my old area won't even try until 16+ because it does more harm than good.

Try to be positive. Unless you have reason to think you will be in the small percentage of women who have trouble, it really isn't worth worrying about. I have had 2 miscarriages and have a bicornuate uterus that can and does add to my problems with not only pregnancy but also conception. I also lost a baby girl at 3 days old after it was incorrectly diagnosed that she had died in my womb. I was induced and the concoction of drugs I was given resulted in her death.

I have been incredibly unlucky, if that's the word you want to use, but I still have some sort of faith that I will be able to add to my family despite having various and serious obstacles.

    Chin up.

As a seasoned dopplerist (:p) I sometimes couldn't find it for a couple of days.. it depends where blob is laid.. and your layers of cuddles ;)

from about 15/16 weeks I could find it quite quickly... MW's don't check before 16 weeks because it can be difficult to locate which makes mums worry and a hospital trip to reassure them.. This one they found it instantly at 13 weeks.. but she did say if I was not who I am she wouldn't even have checked.

Often you can hear baby moving rather than the heart.. sounds like a little person kicking a microphone ;)

    Chill a bit.. :D

vic.. brownish spotting is most common around the times your period would have arrived and 6 and 9/10 weeks.. implantation bleeds (6 weeksish) and the placenta starting to work (9-10 weeks) to sustain the baby are very very common and nothing to worry about.

  • Fluffnutter - I know you warned me off a while ago and you were right :o. I was so pleased when we heard it a couple of days ago - I think I would have been ok if I'd just never heard it but to hear it and then not makes me panic. I'm putting it away for now.

Lily - you're right, overall it has definitely done more harm than good and I wish I'd never bought it now.. I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulties and losses, it puts things into perspective a little. I really hope everything works out for you this time.

Pigpen - thanks for your message. It's reassuring to know other people haven't found it for a couple of days and all has been ok.

TBH I'm not feeling much better - still worrying. Not helped by some brown spotting in the night and feel like my symptoms have totally gone. Just don't feel positive about things :(.. The hospital said because of the spotting/lack of symptoms that they'd do a scan on Thursday but it feels a long time to wait..

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

I'm still spotting, and it seems to be getting a little heavier - there have been a couple of small clots and I'm crampy but nowhere near as much as during a period. It's still brown (sorry TMI) but surely the u/s wouldn't have made me bleed for this long? The EPU appears to be closed for the bank holiday so there's nothing to do but wait and see in any case :o
