Good luck to all with scans. Re spotting I had some @5weeks and 7wks and all was fine. I think it can be common enough.

Lily big hugs to you, my symptoms came and went a lot in the early days, it may just be your hormones settling down. Fingers crossed for good news tomorrow.

So I had the scan.....and she found a sac, yolk, baby and heartbeat. Abdominal ultrasound and she dated me at 5.5 weeks which is wrong but I know how inaccurate it all is at this stage.

They are doing scans every 2 weeks until 12 weeks and then my consultant will take over with whatever care plan they have in mind.

All that worrying and stress over nothing. Although I am now worrying that it's all too small :( Stupid woman, sort yourself out and take a chill pill.

Thanks for the well wishes ladies.

Not sure why there is a big white space in the middle, but there is the little bean. Just wanted to share with someone as we aren't telling any family.

    That's great news Lilymay.

I can't want until I get my first scan. No idea when that will be done though. Is it 12 weeks if nothing complicated comes up?

I have my first midwife app on Friday. Not sure what to expect apart form 100 questions about medical health/family illness etc.

Fantastic news Lily, everything sounds perfect about your scan and it seems as though they're taking reassuring you seriously which is nice. I'm going to say the dreaded 'r' word now... RELAX! :D

Yayyyy, so glad all is well Lily. Hope you can manage to relax a little now you have seen all that, and 2 weekly scans is fab - so pleased they are keeping a close eye on you xx

Lippy - yes, the 1st scan is normally around 12 weeks. If you have bleeding or pain, then you can be scanned early through the EPU (early pregnancy unit) or if you have previous miscarriages / medical problems you may also have extra scans. But if everything is going ok, then 12 weeks is about right. Different areas arrange things differently. I had my booking in apt at 9 weeks, and they arranged the scan apt whilst I was there. I think some places write to you with an appt tho instead.

Is anyone else having stretching? Its mostly at night, and sometimes when I turn over it can be a little painful in the tummy. I feel like its stretching, if that's not too weird a think to 'feel' lol!

Yes, most people have their first scan between 11-13 weeks. Then the second between 18-21.

Friday's appointment will consist of, as you say, 100 questions about you and OH's medical history. Genetic conditions etc and you'll get asked if you are related to the baby's father :) They'll probably weigh you and maybe check your wee. It's just a paperwork exercise really.

Thanks ladies. Yeh they have given me a little sample pot for me to present them with first morning wee lol.
I'm dreading the weigh in. Always my least favourite part of seeing a nurse!

I know what you mean Abis. I think I can feel some sort of stretching already (around 7 weeks, 4 days) it happens a lot during the night. Not very comfortable at all.

I'm so happy for you lily x relax and enjoy now.

Spoke to the midwife who reassured me about the brown spotting. It's stopped completely now...think I overdid the walking at the weekend.

I've had stretching feelings too...a bit like something was pulling my belly button in!
