Hello everyone, I'm 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant and judging by the date of my last period baby's due date is Christmas day :p
I've booked an appointment to see the GP next week but apart from that nothing much has happened. It feels weird to actually be pregnant after waiting for it for so long...
My husband is overjoyed, we've decided not to tell anyone till we've had our first scan but that's killing me . So being able to talk about pregnancy here will help a bit.
I don't have many symptoms yet apart from massively sore boobs and being tired all the time. I'm looking forward to read you all!

misscoupon - hello and congratulations :D how exciting a Christmas baby! Hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

Amy - big hugs, that woman sounds like a complete moron! Mind you when I stayed in hospital over the weekend they saw I have a history of depression and kept coming in to see why I was crying.....erm why the hell do you think!
Can you get in to see your usual doctor anytime soon?

Lily - hope your feeling a bit more positive today xxx

AFM, i am hoping this weekend flies by, after feeling really positive that there had been no bleeding for 24 hours I had some more last night. Not a lot and no where near what it was when I was admitted to hospital but still brings my spirits down.
Is a nice day here so think DS and I will have a day in the garden, hopefully watching him run around enjoying himself will take my mind off it!

Thanks for all the support ladies.

Amy - I have a (very) bicornuate uterus too and as far as I have been told, there is no risk of it causing any problems with implantation. Early labour is our biggest problem and even thats not always a certainty.

Feeling a bit better today. I have booked a private scan for Friday at a clinic near to where we are on holiday. I will have an NHS one back at home the week after, provided I need it of course.

Flower - Good luck this week. Hope the bleeding doesn't start again.

Mine is also a Christmas Day baby, although I have avoided saying it to temp fate.

I really hope the scan goes well Lily and that you're able to enjoy your time awayand get the reassurance you need. I'd been told that if the implantation happens in or too close to a 'horn' then the results can be very similar to an ectopic  and can cause problems earlier than the early labour / breech presentation drama that happens later. I wouldn't worry too much though, as I was told this by one of the more doom-and-gloom midwives :o

I'm another with a Christmas day EDD based on dates :)

Hugs to all those who need it :)

Quick question. I have started my own thread on the Health board but thought I would ask you lovely ladies too. I'm worrying myself over using shampoos/ body wash etc after reading that lots of them can lead to birth defect etc.

Can any of you (especially current Mums) recommend or tell me what you use currently use?

    Thanks :)

 I didnt even know that some can lead to this, im going to have to read up on it now. I have just been using the same that I always do - tresseme (sp?) for hair and just whatever body wash is on offer at the time!

Lippy - Unless you are bathing in arsenic I really wouldn't worry about using any sort of shampoo or bodywash. Same with foods. It's very easy to get a bit too absorbed into all these sorts of ridiculous theories. In reality, it won't make a jot of difference.

Amy - That midwife sounds like she's talking out of her botttom. Comparing tubes to a uterus is a bit daft in my opinion. Womb's stretch to accomodate a pregnancy regardless of shape. Tubes most definitely do not!

I wish it were possible to remove information from your brain. I really think you can know too much about pregnancy etc!

Thanks for your replies. I know it's silly to worry about every little thing, but I've never been a mum before and it wasn't planned, so it's still a bit of a shock for me. I just don't want to screw it up.

I know dying your hair is not recommended (which I'm desperate to do lol)

I suppose my GP would have said something or it would be in the booklet they gave me if it was really an issue.

    Sorry to worry you Flower.
