    Hello Ladies,

Please can I join you. I have recently found out I am pregnant and went to my GP on wednesday am. She asked me when my last period was (15th March) and said I was about 5 weeks. I started thinking about this on the car journey home. Surely that isn't right as I wouldn't have concieved on my period? I would have thought ov wasn't until about 2 weeks after. (I could be really wrong, I know nothing about that sort of thing)

Anyway she has booked me in with the midwife for 10th May. Is this not too early? I have no idea what they will do, she just said it will take about an hour or so. I will only be about 8 weeks according to GP's calculaions. A bit confused and nervous about it if I'm honest.

    Any advice is welcome :)

Welcome to the thread and congratulations! I'm sure someone will correct me but the first two weeks are the weeks from your period, where you aren't technically pregnant! Really it would be 3 weeks since conception but you are 5 weeks pregnant. Sorry if I've confused anyone!

My first midwife appointment was at 8 weeks. They just fill in lots of paperwork and ask lots about your medical history. I had mine this week- see my last post.

My OH is in a bit of a panic this morning having found some bleeding (She's around 6/7 weeks pregnant) so I've had to try and calm her down, and just reassure her. In my non-expert opinion, I didn't seem much and wouldn't worry me too much but we've now got an appointment at the hospital on Monday as a precaution.

Anyone else experienced bleeding around this time and had to have an early hospital appointment? If so, did you have an early scan?

I know bleeding can happen at this time, and apparently it happens to a quarter of pregnant women so I'm staying calm! OH is understandably worried though.

All going well though, we'll have our 2nd child with us at the beginning of December! Can't wait :D

Fingers crossed for you. Is it light or heavy? Red or brown?

Birds of paradise, sorry I haven't replied sooner. Even though my baby has been planned and we've tried for almost a year, I still get the 'omg, I this really what I want?' feelings sometimes. I do feel lots better now. Give yourself time to get used to the idea and don't dwell on how life will change.

Hello there - I also had quite a bit of bleeding, for me between 8-12 weeks. At first they found a bleed in my womb, but later said it had gone although I was still bleeding for no clear reason. I'm also having twins & have heard that the more going on in the womb the more likely bleeding is, but who knows?

My EPU gave me a scan when I was bleeding but I know that some won't. It appears to be pot luck.

I get the 'omg am I ready for 2 LOs' panic every other day! I'm sure it'll continue!

I bled at 5 weeks, quite a lot and was in lots of pain. Thankfully I have seen heartbeat/etc and everything has been ok so far.. I would give your MW/ EPAS a ring though just to make sure

Can't believe how much of a bump I have already, can't even do up my trousers!

Yes credit-crunch I'm 9+0 and get bigger as the day goes on. My work trousers are also feeling tighter in the mornings :( they have no stretch in them so not very forgiving.

I might have to tell my osteopath next week as seeing him for a bit of routine maintance on my back. I'm thinking that because joints become more flexible I will need to tell him. Hopefully he can keep a secret as my mom also sees him for various injuries too :)

I'm 8+1 (docs say 9 weeks) and my sister just noticed I have the start of a bump. I reckon it's bloating!
