    Aw congratulations!!
I listen to mine every day and love it apart from baby has a new habit now of letting me hear him/her, then kicking/hitting the doppler and bursting my eardrums before wriggling away to hide somewhere! A word of warning - in a few weeks when there is more movement don't have it turned up full volume!! I have jumped out of my skin on more than one occasion!

Also for anyone else with a doppler, if/when you run out of gel, baby lotion works brillantly and smells lovely too!

    Hi TOFT

    I have this one:

    Link

I meant to get the bigger slightly more expensive one but misread it on ebay and got this one. It says on the box not to use until 14-16 weeks but I found heartbeat without much stress at 10+4 and have never not been able to find it.

Another tip: (i'm full of useful information!!) if your bladder is full it will help as the baby is very very low down early on!

PS like the lube suggestion Nene ;)

I walked past a charity shop the other day and there was a doppler in the window. I was very tempted to go in especially as there was a stunning pair of red heels in the window as well in my size!

I decided against it as knowing me I wouldn't find the heartbeat and I'd panic. I had a friend who hired one from 8 weeks and I remember thinking she was nuts, but she'd had a very long journey as she had really bad gynae problems where the doctors told her to have a hysterectomy at 30 yrs of age. She went through fertility treatment and after two failed attempts finally got pregnant.

I think I might be going crazy I think I felt the baby kicking, but I'm pretty sure I'm not that pregnant!! It might have just my dinner going down, but it felt like it did with Isabella?!?!

Congrats Lilymay! Pleased to see you. Xx

Toooldforthis - if you get a Doppler, try different times etc. I can find babys heartbeat always in the morning a little while after I've emptied my bladder, while on my back but some find it better with a full bladder, with a pillow under their bottom etc., experiment and don't panic if you don't find it straight away. It's usually right down by your pelvis and I move along slowly whilst also turning Doppler from one side to the other. Xx

    Hi everyone,

Well where to start? Over the weekend I started with very heavy bleeding, to the point where I was in A and E toilets with a doctor and two nurses picking me up off the floor. With the amount of blood and pain I was convinced I had lost baby. However a scan first thing on Monday morning (after having to stay in overnight for monitoring) found that baby is doing fine and they saw a heartbeat :)
Although they could see the bleed on the scan under the baby, they dont know what caused it. I am under strict instructions to rest and have to go back for another scan next week to check on progress.
I am not feeling very optimistic though and really have convinced myself that this pregnancy will not be going any further :(
Sorry to bring the thread down.
