Evening everyone  Hope you're all wrapped up! I just climbed into bed with my jacket on to try and heat up and fell asleep for 3 hours - oops! I got woken by the buzz of my phone when my ebay items ended :) Some of my items got bids and some didn't but overall, I made around £30 after fees and postage charges. Because I was asleep I missed the chance to relist them as the clocks change next week and I'd rather not end them at 10.30 pm. I'll get them back on tomorrow evening at a more sociable hour.

So, I spent the afternoon at the Vitality Show and, are you ready for it?

    I WANT A VITAMIX!!!!

I watched three rounds of demo (more for the free soup and smoothies than anything else ;)). The demo guy told me that all the models do the same thing, it's just the different looks or timers etc that make them more expensive so we can buy them at the bargain price of £459 and they'll still be all singing all dancing soup/smoothie/ice cream makers we want them to be :j:j

Having said all of that, I want to be debt free more so I resisted :A

I also managed to shovel up a whole load of freebies and not spend a penny in the process!! I was thinking of you kat as I had my 9th (no embarrassment whatsoever on my part. It was free!!) trip to the cheese sample stall. Cheese is good...free cheese is better :D Free juice, free coconut water, free magazines, free vitamins - an all round good day out.

My packed lunch made it back home in one piece so I had it for dinner instead :)

So, another NSD and income from ebay :j

    SFD = 18
    Food Spends = £49.19/£50
    Petrol Spends = £50/£50
    Misc Spends = £84.10/£100
    Money made = £166.86/£100

Okay now that I am in work I realise just how tiring working like a lunatic can be. SO SO happy that I booked a rail ticket. Bed at 0045 / Up at 0500. Never fun. However today won't be an SFD as we have a planned "leaving breakfast" for a colleague who is escaping. I am under my food budget so will be spending some of that thank you very muchos...

    PAYDAY ON FRIDAY!!! :T:T:T

Since my little Kindle has been replaced I have taken up my book "Make More Money" (Infinite Success).. and I stumble upon the chapter I had left prior to breaking the kindle by bringing it to read in the bath. Apparently the steam and condensation isn't great for electronic gadgets...:rotfl:

...Ahem... and I quote...."According to Hill (Napoleon Hill - Author of Think and Grow Rich).. acheivement is impossible without passing the persistence test. it's like a hidden guide whose duty it is to test men (and women) through all sorts of discouraging experiances. Those who pick themselves up after defeat and keep on trying, arrive; and the world cries "BRAVO, I knew you could do it"....:p

Then I highlighted another quote.. "Hill concluded his discussion by saying that from an impartial study of religious leaders of the past one is fdrawn to the inevitables conclusions that persistence, concentrations of efforts and definitness of purpose, were the major sources of heir acheivments"......

THEN dear reader.. at the end of this chapter a quote that I have written in each of my diaries.. at the beginning of the each year for 3 years.. and I shall share - cause it's my favourite..
"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistance. Talent will not; nothing is more common that unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistance and determineation alone are omnipotent".
    (Calvin Coolridge).

Thats my lot. I'm off to stuff my face. Thats my proverb..:rotfl:

    Onwards and Upwards!

Just a quick update then a catch up on the posts. Sold ZILCH on ebay this weekend out of my 18 lots :(. Had only one NSD I think and gonna update my sig soon.

Plus got a complaint form a buyer on ebay about sth not being as described (maybe you shouldn't have bid on it then given the information and picture you had). Yes it was as described, and yes it was vintage (only the company still makes the same) and no your not getting your money back as that would be admitting a mistake I didn't make (and it was only a fiver). Sorry. Grrrr............

  • Thirfty I feel for you.. I HATE people who say things like that. I have put a disclaimer on mine that ........"questions must be asked before bidding, if there is something you are not happy with or want verified please ask, recorded delivery is the only option available and you get your purchse wrapped in tissue paper" - what more could they want!!..

I have had eBay take money out of my account to pay some wench that complained though so be aware of that... GRR! For you...:mad::mad:

So far he's only asked for the difference to what the item would be new as he was a "little disappointed" and questioned it being old. I clearly stated it's broken, missing bits etc and it was truly 60 years old. He asked me a question after I had wrapped it up and he had paid, doh. I didn't lie, name a brand or anything, plus I had detailed pictures. Can't wait for his reply....

Will put a disclaimer on too, although I think I take a break from ebaying. That put me right off plus the people that want to pick up and then don't pay for ages. Plus I don't have anything left to sell as such and find it a righ faff going to the post office all the time, plus then I have my wallet with me and there's temptation to spend. I take a break for a few weeks and then maybe try again. Maybe focus on surveys and similar things for a while to get extra.

I might do this in April as well. I am running out of things to sell and somethings are worth less than it takes to list and post them. I have ignored surveys for months now as I haven't the patience to sit for that time and physically don't have the time.. and then be told I am not suitable for something I spent 10 minutes clicking on. But I like the idea of Amazon gift vouchers. Do you know if you can combine more than one gift voucher to buy something large for around £100 (although I know this would take forever to earn)...

A knock back like you have recieved would put me right off as well. Ask him to send it back - relist it again. That would be more satisfactory for me than letting some chancer have pennies off a genuine item!..

    Hello all,

Been AWOL this weekend. Will catch up on you all in a minute.

Mum fell downstairs on Friday night, broken her wrist and bruised her ribs. Hubby had to go and pick her and dad up from hospital at 3.30am. She's ok but shaken up and in pain.

Shopping on Saturday: we spent £70 of the weekly budget.
    - £10 on flowers for mum and anniversary pressie for them.
    - £5 fruit and veg
    - £5 butchers
    - £31 at home bargains for cat food and wine
    - £20 at Mr T's on cat litter and a few food essentials.

Need to go to the market today for butty supplies for the week.

    Friday and Sunday were SFDs.

Right, off to go and catch up on your lives xx

I'm with Ips0s (but might resurrect some other survey sites again) and although it was quiet recently I made £30 in Amaz0n gift vouchers there from christmas till the end of February and used them all together towards my dad's birthday present. could have probably made more but ignored some surveys and aborted some because they were too long.
